I felt shivers running down, the knuckles of my spine. Sweat dripping down my face. I was paralysed barley able to breathe, until suddenly I was released. My eyes burst open, as I simultaneously sat up abruptly. It was the worst nightmare I had ever had, the feeling of fear still coursing through my veins. Unable to get back to sleep, I dragged my self from my bed and staggered down the hall way and into mamas room. Mama lay there frozen like a statue, as pale as a sheet. I tried talking to her but she didn't react. I tried again but there was still no response, as I edged closer I knew something wasn't right. As my hand felt the soft touch of mamas covers, I settled my hand and gripped the sheet tightly. With all the courage I had left I threw the cover up, revealing the mass of blood it had been concealing. The handle of the keris still protruding from her stomach, at that moment the memory started to fade. I returned back to my room it has been just over a year since that night, but it still feels like it was only yesterday. I tried to shake the thought from out of my head and carry on with the day, but it seems to always come back into my thoughts.
Meanwhile as he got ready that morning and got dressed as his usual prominent self, down at the New York institute the next generation of shadowhunters were training for their next mission. The sound of seraph blades, whip and bow and arrow colliding together. It was the unmistakable sound of the unbeatable trio, made up of Alec and Izzy Lightwood and Alec's parabatai Jace with their bond that is unbreakable. As they finished their training they went and got changed into more casual clothes, it was their first time going out of the institute. The three of them were intrigued to see what mundanes were like, and how they lived. They saw it would be useful, especially because they have sworn to protect them from demons and downworlders alike. As always Alec wasn't impressed, he's not the biggest fan of mundanes. Alec believes that they should start taking more responsibility for their actions, rather than relying on shadowhunters to always be there to help them.
Whilst they walked the streets, they heard a women scream in fear. They were immediately alerted, and ran off to see what was going on. When they got there they found themselves down a long dark alley. Stood before them was a women shaking in fear and the silhouette of a boy, roughly the same age as themselves, hiding in the dark corner of the alley. The boys' head was rested in his hands, Izzy went over and tried to figure out what the mundane had seen. As Izzy tried to get her to calm down, Alec and jace approached the boy. As they edged closer they could see a slight glow, it was coming from behind his hands, they stopped at the realisation that he was a warlock...
