Katherine's POV

I don't know what it is about being a spy that I love so much. Maybe it's the adrenaline rush you feel as you chase after the enemy, or the sense of pride and accomplishment after you successfully complete a mission, or the satisfaction of knowing that, because of you and your achievements, 7-8 billion lives are safe for the moment.

Today was another normal day; well as normal as it can be when you work for the FBI. I guess I should introduce myself. I'm Katherine Smith, or Agent Delta. I'm 19 years old and I've been working for the FBI for 3 years.

Anyway, back to the story. It was a normal training day, up at 6:00, training in karate, judo and taekwondo for an hour each, then half an hour learning 5 different languages, 3 hours of weapons practise, 2 hours of sports, 2 hours of evidence finding and removal, 1 hour of free time and going to bed at 23:00. It's a tough schedule, but you get used to it.

Halfway through my French lesson, an alarm went off, meaning there was about to be an announcement. I leant back in my chair and waited.

"Agent Delta, please report to the mission office. Repeat, Agent Delta to the mission office." The loud speaker boomed. I smiled; I hadn't been on a mission in 3 months, and I got to miss French! I put my book in my satchel and stood up.

"Off you go, Katherine", my annoying French teacher Ms. Dunley said.

"Gladly", I muttered to myself.

"What was that Katherine?" Ms. Dunley asked, but I was already out of the room.

I jogged down to the end of the corridor and called the lift. I got in and pressed the button for floor 50. Floors 2-8 are dormitories, floors 9-12 are for lessons and floors 13-49 are offices. When you turn 21, you get an office. Which floor your office is on depends on your performance. The higher number the floor is, the better you have performed. Floor 50 is for mission debriefs and the offices of the really important people.

When the lift stopped, I got out and walked to the end of the corridor. I knocked on the door 3 times.

"Who is it?" A voice from inside asked.

"Katherine Smith. Agent Delta." I replied.

"Come in." I pushed open the door and stepped inside.

I looked around the room. Even though I'd been in that room loads of times, it still amazed me. There were 3 leather chairs opposite a mahogany desk. There were snippets of magazines, showing the success of previous missions and signed pictures from famous people, like the president.

Behind the desk was mission direction, Mr. Lockhust. Mr. Lockurst had short, brown hair and dark brown eyes. He was very strong and muscular from 17 years of working as a field agent for the FBI before he became the mission director. His eyes were constantly moving, analysing the room. I sat in the middle chair and put my bag down by the side.

Mr. Lockhurst slid a folder across the table and it stopped right in front of me. I picked it up.

"Your mission debrief." He said.

I opened the folder and read it.

Mission debrief for Katherine Smith (Agent Delta). For her eyes only. This folder must be kept in the office of Agent Lockhurst. Any attempts to remove it will result in punishments and whoever removes it will not be allowed on another mission for 3 months.

The government of England have recently been receiving threats from an unknown source. It is the job of Agent Delta to discover who is sending the threats and protect the members of the government and stop the threats before they are carried out.

For safety reasons, Agent Delta will go by the name of Emma Jones. Ex-FBI agent Luke Jones is a member of the government and has agreed to let Agent Delta stay with him, acting as her god-father after her parents' recent demise.

Agent Delta will be provided with a substitute phone to contact Agent Lockhurst on a weekly or monthly basis. She will be provided with diamond earrings, fitted with a voice recorder and a necklace, fitted with a video recorder. A small tracking device is implanted in the earrings and the necklace.

The mission is scheduled to start on Wednesday 8th May, and will end when the threats have stopped.

I looked up from the paper.

"I only have 3 days to prepare?"

Mr. Lockhurst nodded. "You'll be given a list of things you need to take with you tomorrow morning. That's all for now."

I picked up my bag and stood up. I went to the door and opened it.

"Goodbye Agent Delta." He said.

"Goodbye sir."
