Chapter 2 - The Past part 2

"Hinata, was there something you needed?" he asked sternly

"Uuh yes father...lunch has been prepared" she said nervously

Naruto smiled to himself thinking how cute she was.

"Very well we will join you. Naruto we will finish this after lunch" he said

"Yes sir"

They exited the room and went to this huge dining area where servants were awaiting to serve. As they sat Naruto sat infront of Hinata mostly because he wanted to look at her.

*****NORMAL POV*****
Hinata was walking so elegantly and I never noticed how poised she was. Naruto was staring from the side of his eye. He could see her womanly figure shown in by her outfit, but that wasn't his concentration. He was looking at her face, she was glowing and so radiant. He thought if he kept looking at her he would go blind.

"WOW" he breathed

"Huh?" Hinata said startled and a little confused by his comment

"Oh..uh..I was talking about your house it is really is beautiful" he said trying to get out of an awkward situation. He could've kicked himself if he could. They finally arrived at the dining room and it was big. Neji and Naruto sat next together even though Naruto wanted to sit next Hinata. At least he could stare at this beautiful pale purple eyes she had. He thought while trying to keep a straight face. While he was seated he smiled at her but Hinata has always been painfully shy so she she half smiled but could look him in the eyes for too long. He thought about how how she was so frail during the chumming exam. She was shy then but looking at her growth becoming so confident and powerful. He wished he noticed her back then.

"Naruto" Neji said which brought him back to reality.

"Huh...oh sorry I spaced out" he said laughing while scratching the back of his head. Which made Hinata giggle and blush.

"Tsunade will be retiring soon, do you know who will be next Naruto?" Hiashi asked sternly.

"No, I don't know, hopefully I want it to be me but I know I'm still young." Naruto answered.

"Oh come on, where is the confidence? You're always yelling that you'll be hokage one day" Neji said

"Well yea but Obaa-chan said in still young so i gotta wait but I'm still going for that" He said

"She is right being hokage holds a lot of responsibility. If you do become hokage that will be a good thing. Don't you think so Hinata?" Hiashi said. Everyone quickly looked at Hinata for her answer.

"I think Naruto will make great hokage. He is always kind to everyone and he works really hard" She said so confidently but then realized that everyone was looking at her she went back into her shell like a turtle.

"Thank you Hinata" he said smiling warmly at her. Hiashi didn't say a word he just looked at them. The rest of the lunch was quiet but not in an awkward way. Hiashi stood up and motioned the two ninjas to go to his office. They got up and walked behind him. Naruto stopped and looked back to see Hinata one last time. Their eyes met and he smiled and she blushed but he quickly turned and kept walking. If he didn't he would've gone to her and held her. He was happy he had some self control. When they entered the room, they sat down and Hiashi motioned him to continue with his story.

"As I was saying I started to think about her a lot. Every encounter I had with her I remembered. They haunted me every night but in a good way. She was always growing and improving. Like when we went up against the Bee-clan and his she came up with her own version of the tri-pentagram. It was amazing how her chakra destroyed the little bees plus putting up a wall to block the mister bee. Even when she fought pain and she turn her chakra to to twin lions" he said moved with excitement. Which made Hiashi smiled at one point but quickly wiped it away.

"Yes my daughter has grown a lot. I remember when she couldn't even beat her young sister in a match. I was disappointed and I would belittle her. I even disowned her just because I thought she was weak. I realized I was wrong after the chunnin exams. Seeing her grow the way she did made me happy" he said openly the revelation he made brought Naruto and Neji into shock mode. No one expected him to be open but it seems people can change.

"I do understand what you mean about her growth" he continued "let's continue this talk tomorrow, it seems that this will need more time. I have work that needs to be finished today. So I'll see you both tomorrow morning."

"Hai" they both said in unison. They bowed and walked out the room. While walking to the front of the house the servants brought Naruto his cloak warm and dry. Hinata passed by holding dolls looking like Naruto.

"Hey Hinata!" He yelled "what's that?"

She gasped "uh..nothing" she nervously put the doll behind her back, while backing up away from him.

"It looks like a doll with yellow hair" he kept pressing

"Uh no...it's not" she said and ran away blushing so hard.

Naruto felt bad he chased her away but Neji reassured him that it wasn't a big deal and that he will see her tomorrow.
