I felt my phone vibrating in my hand. 6:03 am. Judging by the way school wasn't for another two hours, maybe five minutes of sleep wouldn't hurt.
Wrapped in bed sheets, I decided to check my phone again. Well, shit. It was 7:45. What happened to five minutes of sleep?
I quickly brushed my teeth and threw on a grey AC/DC t-shirt, black jeans and Vans. I looked like a train wreck, but refused to be late to my first day of school.
;
642. What time was it? I was ten minutes late. Great start. Truly, high school was full of utter shit. I glanced at the schedule. Math. I hated Math.
"What the hell?" I yelled. A guy stood behind the door of my locker. He nearly gave me a heart attack.
He smirked at me. "I'm Asher." he said. "And you?"
My eyes began admiring, I mean studying, him. His tousled brown hair could have fooled anyone. The ripped jeans and leather jacket suited him perfectly. His left eyebrow was scarred. Typical heart breaker. I didn't need that.
"Not interested." I answered as I closed the door and walked away.
He came after me and leaned against the wall, blocking the way between Math and myself. From the way his eyes glinted with anticipation, he clearly knew the effect he had on people. And he made no effort to hide it.
"W-why are you looking at me like that?" I bit my lip, pissed at myself for sounding so insecure.
He had playfulness written all over his face. "Do you not like it when I look at you like that?"
I kind of did.
I pushed him aside and walked to class.
;
I smashed my fist against the locker again. Why did stuff like this always happen to me? 642. I sighed. Why wouldn't it open?
"I'll help you." I turned around to see a stunning girl with lots of curls. She was wearing a red crop top, grey girlfriend jeans and white Nike air forces. Before I could say anything, she kicked it really hard. First I thought she was trying to destroy it, but then it went up.
"Thanks." I smiled.
"These lockers suck," she remarked as she reached me her hand. "I'm Franny."
"Jaelyn," I chuckled while I grabbed her hand. "But call me Jae."
I noticed her eyes once she got closer. Her right eye was ice blue while her left was soft brown. (Picture at the beginning for the chapter.) They were absolutely stunning.
"Shall we grab a bite?" She captured joy with her big smile. I nodded as she led way to the lunch hall.
;
"Do you ever get water hungry?" Franny asked with a distant look on her face.
"Water hungry?" I inquired with a ham and cheese baguette in my mouth. "Do you mean thirsty?"
"Oh." she blinked. I giggled.
Suddenly the guy from earlier came in with a straight face and a girl snuggled in his arms.
"Jae." Franny had noticed me looking at him. I was the one blinking now. "That's Asher Diesel. He's the heart breaker. You really shouldn't"
"Chill." I replied. "He's not my type."
Lie. He was every girls' type.
The brunette girl seemed blissfully happy, being so close to him. Her lips were curved into a smile.
Then it left. He suddenly shrugged her off his shoulder.
"Leave." he stated. Everyone's heads turned to them.
She seemed caught off guard, almost speechless. "W-what?" she stammered.
He answered by yawning. "Your time is up."
"B-but I thought you liked me."
"I never said that." He wrinkled his nose in disgust. She seemed like she was about to cry.
"Last night-"
"Listen, Pamela," he interrupted. "I said leave."
"It's Paula." A tear continued to make it's way down her chin, landing on the edge of her mouth. She purposely brushed against his shoulder as she ran out of the lunch hall.
Why didn't anyone do anything? My head turned left, then right. Everyone was staring, someone even filming. I couldn't watch him treat that Paula girl like shit. The chair squeaked as I stood up and walked towards him. Franny tried to grab my arm, but it was to late. He smirked when he saw me. The entire crowd started whispering, but I didn't care. Asher needed punishment.
