♧Natsu♧
The day went by oddly quickly. It seemed so paradoxical that Lucy was feeling her worst only a few hours ago, and now she is smiling like nothing had ever happened.
Was she the type that hid her feelings? If so, she was really good at it. She could have held back her own feelings ever since her mother left her. She never really talked about herself or her family after all.
But one thing is for sure, she loved her mother dearly. She was somewhat like me. I wanted to give my mother a better lifestyle, a better home, a better life.
She collapsed one day while bringing me home from school. Wendy was pretty young at that time and was unaware of the situation at hand at that time. My mother did not really shape my life, but I know what I felt that time.
That was love. I knew what I had to do for this lovely woman. I remember the way she looked at me. The way I looked up to her. She meant the world to me, just like how Wendy meant to world to me.
Wendy looked exactly like her mother though, despite the difference in the colour intensity of their hair. They reflected each other. Wendy is a kind, sweet and possibly the most caring girl you would ever meet.
All these traits add up to my mother's character. Father was rarely home though. Everytime he came home, he would do what fathers were expected to do. He was being the man of the house.
Lucy, however, is a different story. She is one mysterious girl. Somehow, she piqued my interest. She is like that one special gem out of the other gems. And to make things even coincidental, she always end up appearing wherever I go.
Funny, I felt as if I've known her for a long time. Everytime I looked at her, she reminded me of somewhere.
Again, she was the only one who could make me fill my head of her.
"Natsu?" She waved he palm in front of my face. I jerked awake almost immediately.
"You were spacing out. Are you okay?" She asked again, worry pasted on her face.
"Y-Yeah... I was just... Thinking."
"You know, you almost walked into a pole," She said, pointing ahead of me. I looked up, and immediately, I found myself staring face to face with a long grey metal pole.
I was grateful that Lucy had stopped me then and there.
"T-That was close..." I muttered as I took a step away from the pole and continued walking.
Lucy and I lived in the same direction, but our houses weren't that close. We made it an effort to go back to school together if possible. After all, Wendy did grow attached to Lucy.
Though, I was the only one able to see through her. I wonder why was that so.
I began to think about her past which did not help to prevent my urge to pry into her life. Reluctance is a thing.
Lucy silently walked beside me with a smile on her face, a flowery aura surrounding her as she skipped in her steps.
I could not help but notice a leaf floating past her, before settling itself on the top of her beautiful blonde hair that was tied into a nice pony tail.
Somehow, I associated the leaf with a being that does not even exist. One with little butterfly wings.
"Hey Luce," I spoke out. She turns to me and stares at me, eyes sparkling with curiosity. "What sport did you pick for sports day?"
She smirks and punches her fists in the air. "Track and Field and Basketball. How about you?" She replies with excitement.
"Track and Field and Volleyball," I replied. Though, I actually wanted to do basketball instead of volleyball.
