*LARA'S P.O.V*
"Are we hanging out or what?!" My little sister Kyra asked throwing a pillow at me.
"I just wanna finish this chapter.." I rolled my eyes and continued reading. Then we heard clattering and banging downstairs as my older sister Alyssa came into the room. Clearly, dad was making breakfast.
"Should we go down and help him?" I asked nervously.
"He wants so do it himself but please come help me set the table." Alyssa sighed.
"I hate when dad makes Korean food," I heard Kyra complain, "It always tastes like butt."
"Regardless, whatever dad puts in front of you, I want you to take a bite and say 'Mm just like Mom's.' Okay?" Alyssa replied smiling.
"I was still eating smushed peas when mom died." Kyra whined. Then there was a knock at the front door. It was Daniel.
"Hey," He said cheerfully, "Not too late am I? I was trying to meditate but I ended up falling asleep." He said then he kissed Margot and walked over to me and we did our handshake.
"So uh what you cooking?" Daniel asked our dad.
"Usually if you just rock back and forth.." He said while looking at the horrible piece of meat.
"Its supposed to fall off the bone." Kyra mumbled. The room fell silent after Daniel and Alyssa had a short argument. "Mm just like Mom's." Kyra said again trying to lighten the mood.
I guess I should tell you a little bit about Daniel. He and Alyssa have been together for the past two years, but before Alyssa even cared that he exsisted, he was my first boyfriend. Well, space between the words...boy who was a friend. I could talk to him about anything. We really understood one another.
*FLASHBACK*
"Okay so would you rather only drink water for the rest of your life, or you can drink whatever you want but it has to have a drop of pee in it?" I smiled at Daniel as he laughed.
"Clear or yellow?" He answered while we sat there eating lunch on the bleachers.
"It has to be a little yellow." I say.
"I mean pee. Definitely pee. I can't give up Mountain Dew."
*FLASHBACK OVER*
We didn't stop being friends after Daniel and Alyssa got together, it was just different,
*FLASHBACK*
"Water. Definitely water." Alyssa answered.
"Yeah me too." Daniel said.
*FLASHBACK OVER*
They didn't want me to feel left out so they invited me everywhere...even on dates. They tried to make it as normal as possible, but...I still felt like a third wheel. It's not that I wanted to steal my sisters boyfriend or anything. I was super happy for Alyssa. She deserves a good guy like Daniel. And so I wrote him a letter...now I wasn't going to send the letter. It was just for me to understand how I was feeling. But really, I guess it was mainly about how sometimes I imagined what it would've been like if I'd realized how I felt about him sooner. My letters are my most secret possessions.
