Natasha lay in a warm bed listening to a fire crackling somewhere in the room, frowning trying to open her eyes, able to feel a firm warm body beside her, but lying on top of the covers instead of under them with her. Wishing whoever it was was underneath with her so she could have the added warmth. She hears someone knock softly on the door, feeling the body beside her getting up carefully. Listening to them speaking to each other in hushed tones, trying to make out what it is they’re saying, only able to decipher a familiar male voice and another softer, voice that must be a female.

“How is she doing?” Izzy comes in quietly, with a tray containing a bowl of hot beef stew and fresh warm bread, setting it down on a small table by the window looking at him  with her bright green eyes. “She’s hanging in there…” Sighing watching her, his eyes full of worry, running a hand through his dark hair. “She’s going be fine Kaleb, and you need to eat so come sit down.” Going over taking his hand pulling him over to the table making him sit down, handing him the napkin. “Acting like a mom already Izzy.” Taking the gold ring off his napkin laying it in his lap. “That’s nothing new silly, I baby you and your brother both. Someone has to.” Izzy smiles patting his shoulder going over checking on Natasha, sitting on the edge of the bed, watching her sleep. “She’s very pretty Kaleb… I’m happy you were able to finally find her, I know how long you’ve been waiting. And so have our people… you can finally take your rightful place on that throne…”

Kaleb dips his bread in the broth looking over after taking a bite. “Well my brother makes you happy, doesn’t he? I see you two together and you look a billion times happier then you did with me. And you’re the only one who can get through to that stubborn ass. Plus I always thought it would be him to take over one day.” He smiles and dips his bread again eating it before digging into the bowl of stew. “I love Kalen with all of my heart yes but he’s not our king you are… I’m just glad you’re not going to be alone anymore.”

“I wasn’t always alone, I just broke up with Anna, remember? After I found out Natasha was out there for me.” Finishing his stew wiping his mouth off putting the napkin down. “She was a bitch, whether you knew about this girl or not it wouldn’t have worked between you two.”

“I suppose that’s true.” Kaleb gets up stretching going back over to the bed, lying beside Natasha again watching her sleep, taking her hand kissing it. “Do you think she’s going to accept me Izzy? Accept this role she’s going to be thrown into…” Watching her quietly, dark circles under his eyes from not sleeping. Izzy smiles and lays a throw blanket over him. “She might not at first but give her time.” Whispering, bending down kissing the side of his head, getting the trey off the table leaving quietly, her thick red braid swinging slightly as she does.
