Hey guys, thanks for taking time to read my book! This is my first book on wattpad, as I've always only been into reading until recently. Anyway, I hope you enjoy this book and remember to vote and comment!

Love J xx

"El"

"Ellie, wake up!"

"Eloise get your ass out of the car now!"

My eyes flicker open and straight away I am blinded by the bright sun. Stretching my legs across the back seats in the car, I look out the window to see my dad starting to pile up the bags from the boot.

"El if you're not up in–".

"I'm up, I'm up!" I lazily shout, whilst massaging my neck to rid myself of the kink that formed over the four-hour car drive to the mountains.

"At last. Now get out here and help us walk these up to the cabin", he says, grunting whilst picking up three large bags, which he ends up dropping anyway. Of course, it was mine that just had to be on the bottom.

My poor books.

I open the door and straight away feel the cool breeze surround me. I tug my jacket tighter around my shivering body and haul two bags over my shoulders.

"Come on you two, the Karlsen's will be waiting for us", my mother says, locking the car and walking up the dirt path. My father and I share a look as we know how much mum hates being late and I grudgingly begin to follow them up the hill.

...

The sun has started setting by the time we reach the cabins that rest high in the mountain, overlooking the full camping grounds below. My parents have already headed straight to the Karlsen's cabin, which is only twenty or so metres away from ours. Every year we go camping with the Karlsen's during the summer time. However, due to Rebecca Karlsen's sister and husband dying in a car crash in summer last year, we haven't gone camping together till now, which unfortunately is during winter. I only met Lucy and Nick Park a few times, but I remember how nice they were to everyone the meet. I also remember how Nick always had chocolate with him, which he gave to myself and Addy, the Karlsen's daughter and my childhood best friend, who is just one year younger than me.

After the accident, last I heard was that Nick and Lucy's children are now living with the Karlsen's and are joining us on this trip.

"Ellie it's been so long!", Addy yells as she runs up to me and suffocates me with one of her infamous bear hugs.

"Not long enough", I joke back smiling widely, wrapping my arms around her.

Addy and I have always been close as we are both only Childs and lived next door to each other for 12 years. However, my mum got a job in the town over, so 5 years ago we packed up and moved away from the city. We still met up with the Karlsen's often, but it got less and less till we just met up once a year to go camping.

"El sweetie look at you all grown up", Rebecca, Addy's mum says pulling me into a hug straight after I fought Addy out of the death grip she had me in.

"Hey Becca. I've missed you guys so much", I respond, hugging her back. "Hey Connor", I shout over her shoulder towards her husband who is greeting my parents.

"Hey Ellie-smelly", he jokes back, waving to me beside my dad.

"Ha ha" I say, giving him my best death glare.

"Stop calling her that. She's 17 not 7", Becca scolds him, kissing my check before letting me go and walking over towards the parents.

"So, how are you?" Addy asks next to me as we go and sit on the logs that lay just outside the cabins. We spend the next hour or so catching up, well me just sitting there and listening to all of the things Addy got up to in the past year. I told her all about how my last year of school is going, but mainly we swapped titles for good books we have recently read.

"I love that book. Did you know that the auth–"

"Girls, the kids have just woken up", my mother yells from the open cabin door, cutting me off. Addy stands up and sees my questioning gaze.

"My five-year-old twin cousins, Paislee and Orlando"

They must be Nick and Lucy kids. Just the thought of them losing their parents at such a young age, makes me upset. I couldn't ever imagine losing my parents, especially at their age.

"You'll love them. They're adorable", she says smiling slightly.

By the time we step into the warm cabin living room, the two twins are racing around the room, giggling loudly.

"Ollie, Paislee, look who is here" Addy softly says. Both kids stop in front of us and stare wide eyed at me. The warm brown of their eyes matches the light brown curls of their hair.

"Hey Ollie, Paislee"

"Who are you?" Paislee shyly mutters.

"I'm El. Addy's better half"

"Call her Ellie, she loves it" Addy says, laughing at the death glare I'm giving her.

"Hi Ellie" they both say, now smiling brightly.

"Come play with us" Orlando insists. Before I can answer, they both grab one of my hands and drag me into their small room, with Addy snickering behind me.

...

The sun has long left the sky and the bright stars twinkle above, illuminating the otherwise dark night. Addy rests on the chair next to me with Paislee asleep on her lap, her gaze on the flickering flames of the fire. Olly further snuggles into me, snoring quietly whilst the parents sit across from us, chattering away into the silent night.

The rumble of a car engine stirs me from my thoughts, as I turn to follow the incoming camper. Addy moves her gaze towards the car and quickly wakes Paislee and Orlando, who look dead tired, but jump awake as soon as they see the car.

The black door opens to reveal a boy. Not just a boy, but a rather handsome boy. Addy throws her arms around him in one of her death hugs, which he returns. Then she moves out of the way as he swiftly picks up Olly and Paislee and showers them with kisses.

I turn my head from the boy when I see the adults rush over to him and greet him with a big group hug. To say the parents have drank only a little bit would be an understatement. It's like this every year and they do the funniest stuff and tell the most embarrassing stories that their drunk minds can come up with.

It's what makes these camping trips. That and the roasted marshmallows.

I continue to watch the encounter between him and the others. I notice the worn out, leather jacket that hugs his broad chest and faded dark jeans that fit his long legs comfortably. His appearance illustrates his lack of care for new clothes, but somehow it works for him and strangely makes him more attractive. I move my eyes along his sharp jaw line and perfect lips, all the way up to his dark capturing eyes, only to see him watching me check him out.

Crap.
