Au: Curious yet scared merman Yugyeom and Human Youngjae
Yugyeom's Pov:
I look at my older brother BamBam and asks, "Why can't we just go closer to the shore?"
BamBam sighs and says, "Because those human will catch us and turn us into one of them. Remember what happened to Jinyoung?"
Oh yeah. Jinyoung was curious like myself and went close to the shore then fell in love with a human. They started to spend more time together and falling more in love with each other. If Jinyoung had kissed the human first, the human would have become a merman, but the human kissed Jinyoung first. So Jinyoung turned into a human and we haven't seen him ever since then.
Now this might seem good, but we are royals and Jinyoung was the first born. Jinyoung was supposed to take over the crown when our father died, which was the day Jinyoung turned human. Jinyoung happens to be our only older brother that we know where to find him. Our other older brother named Wonpil also fell for a human. Unlike Jinyoung, he kissed the human first. However, the other mermen and mermaids didn't like this, so they made Wonpil and his lover run away.
Now, it is just BamBam and I left. A siren once told us that our family was cursed to fall in love with humans in the order we were born in. Since I am the youngest, that means that BamBam will probably fall in love before me, but that also means I would be left alone.
I sigh and nod. I say, "I remember what happened to both Jinyoung and Wonpil, but still don't you wonder what would happen if...."
I trail off when BamBam starts pulling to swim back the way we were head.
Why? Well I almost swam into a fishing net and we all know how that would have ended up.
Anyway, BamBam and I decide to hide behind a rock, which is a bad idea because only BamBam has silver hair with silver scales and a silver tail to match the rock. I have yellow hair with yellow scales and a golden tail, so I am sure that someone might be able to see me. BamBam looks at me and says, "Stay here...I am going to take a closer look at the ship."
My eyes widen because what he just said sounded similar to what Jinyoung and Wonpil told us. Jinyoung told us to 'stay here' and paused then said 'I am going to take a closer look at that shiny thing'. Then he ended up being watched up on the beach and a human saw him. He put him back in the water instead of taking him away to experiment on him like our father always told us humans would do if they saw us. Wonpil told us to 'stay here' and also paused then said 'I am going to take a closer look at that person.' Then he ended up saving that human from drowning.
I shake my head no and pull BamBam back to me. I say, "Don't leave me. I don't care if you feel drawn to that ship. You aren't going to leave me alone. If you fall in love with a human, I will become an outcast then I would be more prone to attack or worse experimented on. Please don't leave me...."
BamBam sighs and I know I am probably close to crying. BamBam looks at the ship then at me and sighs. He says, "I won't leave you. Come on let's go."
I smile as we swim away from the ship. Everything seems fine until BamBam gets his tail caught in a net. As we try to remove his tail from the net, I am guessing those humans start raising the net. I grab BamBam's arm and try to pull him towards me, but I ended up being raised with him.
Great.
Youngjae's Pov:
As Jackson pulls up the net, I just sit down and shake my head. I say, "I don't think that is a fish."
Jackson asks, "And why do you say that?"
I say, "Fishes don't have a human looking belly."
I point at what Jackson pulled up. Jackson says, "Well....go check it out."
I sigh and mutter, "Why didn't JB come with us?"
Jackson says, "He is busy with his boyfriend remember?"
I say, "Well Jinyoung could have came with us."
Jackson says, "He is avoiding the ocean for a reason remember..."
Oh yeah, he used to be a merman well he still is. Whenever he gets wet, his legs turn into a tail. I am guessing that he pulled up a merman.
I look over the boat and asks, "So do you want some help or do you want us to lower you back into the water?"
Jackson walks over and leans over. I glance at him then look at at him. I shake my head then walk over to where Jackson was before and wait.
I know that look on his face. He used to look at Mark like that until they broke up when Mark had to move back to his hometown in California.
After Jackson helps the silver tailed merman out of the net, they have this kind of stare off before the merman swims away with another merman following him.
....wait there were two mermen....when did he get there?

It has been a month since we helped that merman and Jackson has been acting weirdly. Similarly to how Jaebum was acting when he first met Jinyoung. He already told me what the names of the mermen we helped were and has shown a lot of interest in BamBam was it.
I bet those two mermen are related to Jinyoung.
Currently, Jaebum, Jinyoung, Jackson, and I are at the same spot that we helped that merman at. When I see Jackson go into the sea, I shrug and ignore everyone else until I hear Jinyoung say, "Brothers?"
I look at Jinyoung as he jumps into the sea fully clothed. I look over the edge of the boat to see Jinyoung with the the other two mermen we have seen before and well one we haven't seen before.
Oh so Jinyoung has a black tail with black scales that match his hair....wait so who is the red haired merman....also, I am correct I guess.
I look at the one named Yugyeom and sigh.
Why do I feel attracted to him?
Yugyeom's Pov:
....I guess that siren was right.
I smile and wave at Youngjae. Youngjae smiles and waves back.
Me: I know there isn't much romance in this, but it is implied that they are going to start dating in the future. If you want me to do a part two to this, just ask and I will do it.
I will publish the Jackbum one when it is finished.
Oh by the way, the dark red haired merman was Wonpil. I forgot to add that before my bad. Wonpil's lover is close by, but I didn't add that either.
