After graduation, everything was going to plan for the band, but for Kayla not so much. Her parents divorced and she was heartbroken about it. She didn’t talk to anyone for a whole two weeks. She had told me a few weeks back that she wished everything would just stop being so awful and just be perfect for once. I didn’t know what she was talking about back then, but I eventually found out.
A week after we got signed and were scheduling our first performance, Kayla tried taking her own life. She failed, and I thanked the Lord every day for her failing. Kayla said she couldn’t take all the stress that came with the divorce and just tried ending it. Although I was on tour most of the time with Zac, Archer, and Austin, I still found a way to visit her and show her the video of our show we had that night. Kayla was in a mental hospital for a year, before she finally realized her life was worth living. She came on tour with us the night she was released, and said she loved our show.
“You did amazing out there guys! I wish I could have been there for your first ever performance, but I was kinda knocked up in the head at the time.” She always tried joking about her incident, no one ever laughed at them.
I look at the grey headstone in front of me,

Beloved daughter, granddaughter, and friend.

Kayla might not have killed herself, but the drunken driver that hit her small truck last year did. It’s been a year ago today that she passed and I still miss her just as much as I did when she went. Everyone else misses her too, but they hate talking about her or watching videos of us back before we were famous and she happened to be in it. They hated talking about her at all, when all I want is to talk about the girl I love that died in a car crash.
“Sorry I uh didn’t know there’d be anyone else here.” A girl around my age says from beside me, I look towards her. She resembles Kayla a lot, with her black hair and blue eyes. She has red roses in her right hand; the girl places the pretty flowers in the headstone before turning to me.
“How did you know Kayla?” She asks softly. I look back to the stone.
“I was her bestfriend.” I say to her sadly. The girl turns her body to face me.
“I was her cousin. I can’t believe it’s been a year.” She says looking at the stone now. I look at her, I knew she resembles Kayla.
“I’m Seth Miles, it’s nice to finally meet someone who will actually come and visit Kayla.” I smile outstretching my hand for her to shake.
“I’m Hana Elks; it’s nice to finally meet someone who actually visits Kayla too.” Hana smiles shaking my hand. From then on out Hana was my new Kayla.
That's it guys! The end! How'd you like it? I loved writing this, and I'm sad to say that Seth and Kayla are over and now it's Seth and Hana against the world :D I have a sequil to this but it's like really really short so I don't know if I want to upload it or not. I hope you enjoyed this short story as much as I did writing it!
XOXO
