Armin x Reader: Music From My Heart

You harshly scraped the muck off the horse's shoe in a mad manner. "What a brat." You heard Captain murmur from behind you. He had placed you on mucking duty because once again you caused a problem in the cafeteria. You rolled your eyes at his remark and continued to furiously scrape the icky muck from the horse. "Forgive me, Charlet." You whispered lightly to the horse almost out of breath. "I'm not in the best mood today." You said again sighing. The horse gave a slight whinny in acceptance. You hated this job, but you were glad to take care of the horses. They were fascinating creatures. Returning to you even after you accidentally abandon them due to titan assaults. You rubbed the horses soft nose and wiped the sweat from your sweaty forehead. As you did so, you heard shuffling behind you. Due to your in curable curiosity, you turned around to see Levi glaring at you. "I didn't think you were done. Get back to work, f/n." You saluted in annoyance but realized you were indeed in the wrong and respected his punishment. "Sir!" You said and proceeded to scrape. "Tch, I could've been playing my piano at this time.." You mumbled underneath your breath. You dearly loved the piano. It was your childhood hobby and you played it all through your teenage years. You knew just about everything there was to know about the piano. Mainly because you've played it for quite some time.

(Time skip of about 40 minutes)

"Finished!" You announced cheerily to Levi. "I'll check." He replied emotionless. You nodded and glanced around the area you were in. You were in the mess hall, where Levi's office was. It was a decent office. Pictures, maps, paperwork, pens.. All normal office things. You waited and waited until you were greeted with Levi again giving you the "job complete" release. You silently celebrated and headed towards your dorm excitedly. You FINALLY got time to play the piano. Thank goodness. You approached the shiny black beauty and rested yourself on it's matching bench. You smoothed the wrinkles in your pants and gently placed your fingers on the cool, white keys. You took a deep breath and began to play the first chord, beautifully. Using the damper pedal, to make the sound even lovelier.

The song was creepy yet beautiful. Harsh yet calm. You played with your fingers calmingly stretch to play the staccatos and the half steps. It's melody synchronized with the notes in your head. Your pedal work accompanying the sounds beautifully. The notes echoed eerily into the large, empty hall. You closed your eyes and let the music engulf you into a peaceful mindset.

Armin's POV:
"What?" I questioned as my eyebrows furrowed in confusion. The book I was reading had tripped the plot line unexpectedly. But that was what I expected from the series of books I was lunging myself into. I was just about to turn another page, when my attention was distracted by the sound of a beautiful song being played delicately and softly. It was soothing and eerie. I was in a trance. The music engulfed me and I slowly swayed to the never ending piece. The song must be played by somebody with extreme delicacy and an overwhelmingly amount of years playing the instrument. But who? There weren't a lot of people in the scouts who could've played music this enchanting. They must've had practiced years to accomplish the beauty that was ringing throughout my ears. I was curious to see who had this extraordinary talent. I could only think of one person. F/N. She had long delicate fingers, & was told to have a musical background. It had to be her, nobody else had the distinct features of a pianist other than her. I followed the sweet harmonic melody into a large dark hallway. It was the hallway of f/n's dorm. I saw a faint light escape from under the bolding white door that held the hypnotic music. I slowly approached the room and the music grew louder. I smiled and lightly rapped on the door.

You heard a light tap on the door while you were playing your piece, so you slowly removed your slender fingertips away from the soothing touch of the piano and opened the tall lenient door to reveal a smiling blonde with bright blue eyes. You gave a gentle smile and greeted the boy. "Hello! Nice to see you!" You greeted softly & warmly. "As well as you!" Armin replied just as soft. "May I ask, is it you playing that music?" He asked in hope. You gave a heartwarming light laugh and nodded slowly and replied cheerily, "yes, I have been playing the piano ever since I was 5. I have grown to be its number one companion." You said smiling at the piano. Armin was smiling and looked extremely happy to have found the mysterious musician. "That's awesome. Your music is extremely beautiful and hypnotic. I thought I'd just come to tell you that." He said with a light pink dusting his cheeks. "Thank you! May I ask, do you play?" You said noticing the heat rising to your own. "N-not really. I only know one song.." He said twiddling with his thumbs. "Can you play it for me?" You asked with your e/c eyes shimmering with excitement. "I-I guess. Only if you insist. It's called, Dearly Beloved. It's the only song I know. I used to take lessons, but I stopped, because of..you know...the fall. My teacher is dead but I still remember the song well." You dropped your smile and looked at him with sorrow. (Link to song Armin plays http://youtu.be/FBLFMuASF60 ) "im so sorry Armin.." You said. " it's ok I might as well get to playing." He replied meekly giving a slight chuckle. He rested himself on the bench, cracked his knuckles, took in a deep breath, and played. The song, was vaguely familiar. It was a tune you had heard before. He played with emotion, & with such precise moves. Whomever taught him, taught him extremely well. He was fantastic. He used the damper pedal expertly, his fingers delicately stroking the light white keys, creating a sound of harmonization. It was a beautiful piece. A piece, you recognized. He slowly released his fingers from the keys and turned to you smiling. "That was extremely beautiful, Armin." You said giving him a bright beam. "I recognize that song, Armin. But may I ask, was that once transposed to a duet?" You asked questioningly. He nodded slowly but reassuringly. "Yes, my teacher transposed the entire song into a duet that differs octaves." He said as he stood up. "Do you have the sheet music? If so, m-maybe I could p-play it with you?" You asked looking into playful blue orbs. He grinned that beautiful grin of his and nodded excitedly. "I indeed do! C'mon! Let's go get it!" He said grabbing your hand and dragging you out the lenient bold white door. You both ran quickly down the shiny, dark, long hallway into his small bright room. You patiently waited outside as he fumbled through his possessions. He let out a abrupt hum in satisfaction and you both bolted back to your musical room. "There." He said soothingly as he places the music onto the music slot. You glanced at the music. There were thousands of staccatos, accents, damper marks, trills & well, just a bit of everything! But those markings were like words to you, you understood everything the music read. "Shall we sit?" He asked placing himself onto the bench. "We shall." You replied as a dusting of pink sprinkled on your cheeks. You both placed your fingertips upon the keys and both took in deep breaths and played the piece. Oh how the music synchronized perfectly. The melody and the harmony accompanied each other so well. You both were so satisfied with what your skill had strung together. The music was in sync, the pedals were being pressed at the perfect time, the light strokes of the piano meshed with your skills and it made the most beautiful song you'd ever heard. The song was nearing it's finish, but you two kept playing on. Hands brushing against each other to reach their destination to play their arrangement and combination of notes to create the sounds that were sweet. Your hands were playing the delicate melody of the upper octave, while Armin's were playing the delicate harmony of the lower octave. But the opposing sides were meshed and synchronized to create the song you both knew well. The song was only a few measures from its end, when your hands collided with Armin's. You both looked at each other, blushes burning bright. You looked into his blue eyes and his melted with your e/c ones. His reflexes told him to reach for your h/c hair and gently caress your soft jaw, but they were being fought back. Your reflexes told you to smash your lips into his and to savor his warmth, but your system was fighting that urge as well. But both of your reflexes broke loose and you both meshed lips and shared a deep sweet kiss. Hands engulfed in the other's hair, lips working towards the other's, faces burning red, bodies shaking with emotion. His mouth hesitantly opened deepening the kiss, creating a more romantic vibe, causing you to hum in satisfaction. His hand tracked from your hair to your waist and he pulled you in. You smiled a little and you both kept going at it. For what seemed like eternity, you both broke apart and smiled. His hand reached for your delicate one and you both held hands. "F/n, let me play the music from my heart." He said in a soft tone and kissed you once more.
