Harley was just turning five today and her parents Becky and Holden were throwing her a surprise party.

They invited the whole block to their house. Harley was so surprised and happy and played her little heart out for hours. Between the big bounce house and the clown creating silly animals, this was the happiest day of Harleys life, and her last.

"Becky, think we should take the big bounce house down for the night?" Holden said as the parents were cleaning up.

"I think that would be a lot of work on both of us. I think it should be fine til morning." Becky said.

Once the last parent left, the Hansons had their whole house to themselves.

"Harley dear, come to the living room." Holden called out.

Harley came running into the living room still high on sweets.

"It is time for you to get ready for bed." Becky said bending down in front of Harley.

"But moooom I'm not tired." she whined.

"Harley. Do as your mother says. You know it is past your bedtime anyway. We threw you a pretty good party and now it is time to get ready for bed."

Harley stomped her foot and put out her lip and starred at her parents with big blue eyes. At first they were pleading puppy dog eyes, then they darkened and she kicked her mom in the leg and yelled

"NO!"

Stunned in disbelief Becky just sat there.

Holden ran over beside Becky and yanked Harleys arm up but she quickly yanked herself free.

Her little body went flying backwards.

Her head slamming against the corner of the coffee table in the middle of the room.

A horrifying crack ran through the house.

Before anyone had time to react, Harleys body lie lifeless in front of their eyes, blood puddling under her head.
