Chapter 3
"Shh! Shhhh..." the man whispered in my ear. His breath smelled like menthol, like he was just chewing gum. "It's me, Matthew."
Matthew? Isn't that Jada's brother? But what is he doing sneaking around? As if he read my thoughts, he answered me with a hint of amusement in his words.
"Look, you must think I'm suspicious but I just don't want them," he nodded upstairs, "to know I came home late, else I will get into a lot of trouble." I took a good look at him and I could see the resemblance between him and Mrs. McAllister. He had her blonde hair and her green eyes which has the same mischievous glow in them like Jada's. And like Jada and her parents, he was also good-looking. An All-American good looks, with the thought of that I blushed under his hands.
"Okay, look, I'm gonna let you go now. Just don't scream, okay?" he must've needed my answer because he repeated it again, "Okay?" I nodded and he let go.
I gasped a lungful of air. "Oops, sorry. Didn't mean to deprive you of air." He chuckled silently. I looked at him and concluded that he is Jada's brother, Matthew.
"Sorry, I know I mustn't be sneaking around like that. I didn't think that someone would still be up this time of night," He smirked at me and it made my heart beat faster. He looked sexy in that smirk. "Well, you must be Claire?"
I nodded. "Yes, uh, sorry if I freaked out..." I looked down in embarrassment. That's what I get from reading and watching a lot of suspense/thriller books and movies. Made me paranoid.
"Nah, S'okay, my fault anyway. Ah, haven't made a proper introduction yet. Let's start at the top, shall we? I'm Matthew, Jada's big brother, you can call me Matt." He extended his hand to me and I took it. "Claire." A current ran through our hands. "Ow." "Ouch!" we both exclaimed.
At the same time we both looked at each other and laughed. "Well, that's something." He chuckled. I blushed.
"Um, do you mind if I ask you something?"
"No, not at all. Oh, except for if you ask me if I'm wearing Hawaiian underpants." He winked at me then chuckled. I blushed again. He is Jada's brother., also mischievous.
I shook my head. "I was just gonna ask why you don't want to let them know." I pointed upstairs.
"Ah, that. Well, Claire, you see, my mom can be pretty strict and will surely freak out if she knew I didn't miss my plane and just went partying instead of coming straight here. Can I trust you to keep my secret then, Claire?" He leaned towards me so our faces were a few inches away from each other. I gulped. Gosh, why is he making me this uneasy? I got a good look at his eyes. His green eyes were bright, and at this proximity, I can see he has gold specks around his pupils. His very stare, it's as if he's seeing my very soul. I blushed deeply at the thought and I nodded at him.
He got up. "Good," He winked at me. Oh my. "Well, I'm pretty darn tired." He lifted his arms and stretched. For a sec I saw well-formed abs as his shirt went up. I gulped again.
He picked up his bag from outside the window and closed it, then he began going up the stairs. He stopped at the top of the stairs and looked down at me. "Oh and Claire, if words get out I was sneaking in and wearing Hawaiian boxers, I'll make you pay." He smirked. How can be a threat come out so sexy?

Sunshine caught my face and I groaned. I opened my eyes sleepily and checked my phone. It read 7:03 a.m. Still early, I turned my back on the window and closed my eyes again. What time did I sleep again? Oh, a little before 3 a.m. Just then, Jada's brother's face came into my mind. Those green eyes that bore into mine. I shook my head. He's Jada's brother, Claire, thought my superego. So? It's just a tinsy little crush, shrugged my id. Minutes later, my door burst open.
