I woke up to the sound of a constant banging at my door. I looked at my phone for the time as the banging continued. It was 8:30 a.m. on a Saturday.

"Please stop banging my door!" I groaned as the banging suddenly descended away like an echo. I turned over in my narrow bed, this time I faced the wall.

I easily went back to sleep as I slowly closed my eyes and dozed off back to oblivion.

This time, I woke up on my own. I stretched, then reached for my phone searching for the time. It was 10:12 a.m. I then put my phone down and stretched one final time before finally getting up from bed. Before I left my room, I grabbed my phone and headphones.

I walked out of my room and into the never-ending hallway. I heard my mom talking in her room to my right. I walked into her room as she was finishing a conversation to my sister about what she was wearing.

My sister walked out of the room as I sat down staring at my mom who was looking at herself in her giant closet door mirror. My sister came back in with a long, grey cover-up. She handed it to my mom who was wearing a fancy green tank top, dark blue jeans, and tan high heels.

The grey cover-up greatly completed her formal outfit.

"Where are you going?" I asked my mom with curiosity.

"I'm going on a breakfast date." She continued, "Oh! I've been meaning to ask you, do you want to go to the beach with me? We're going to meet up with my friend Pretti and her daughter Melia. They're staying at a hotel."

"Of course! What time are we going to leave?" I quickly replied excitedly.

"We're going to leave when I come back, so in an hour." My mom replied. I sat there in silence with my mom still looking at herself in the mirror when two of my dogs walked into my mom's room.

Kilo, the pit bull, quickly jumped on the bed very eager to greet me with his slimy kisses. Once Kilo was done with his slimy greeting, Ammo, the golden retriever mix, patiently sat in front of my feet as he waited for his turn to be greeted. I started petting Ammo when I heard my mom's phone ding for hundredth time.

"Emilee, we might not be able to stay long at the beach." My mom calmly spoke.

"That's fine. Just as long as we at least get to go to the beach at some point. Why can't we stay that long, though?" I spoke happily as I started petting Kilo once more.

"My friend invited me to the Orlando City soccer game. The game starts at 2:00 p.m." My mom said as she gathered her purse.

"Oh, okay. I love you! Have fun at your date!" I increased my voice as my mom walked across the long hallway.

"I love you too! Text me if something is wrong!" My mom closed the door behind her. I heard her car engine start and fade away as she descended from the driveway.

I quickly bolted up in my sudden realization of hunger. I looked in the cabinets and saw Ramen Noodles, some bad cereal, and Kettle Corn. I decided just to eat Kettle Corn because we had no milk for the cereal anyways.

I unwrapped the single-sized Kettle Corn packet as my little brother, Brandon, and his friend, Chace came back inside from the back door.

As Brandon and Chace chatted at a loud volume, I put the Kettle Corn in the microwave and pressed the popcorn button.

I quickly sat down at the dining table as I waited for my Kettle Corn to be done. I opened my phone and started looking up new show to watch for when I start eating my breakfast.
