"Son we need you to tell us everything" says the cop sitting across from me.

It's 12'am she died in my arms around 9' O clock and I still can't think right. My eyes are wide and red I really want to close them but I can't cause when I do all I see is her dropping after the bullet hit her body. I couldn't help her. I couldn't save her.

"It...it should've... it should've been me" I say to no one in particular.

The cop shakes his head and looks me in the eye "No. It shouldn't have been anyone. Your girlfriend died for no reason at all. Crimes like this are what upset me the most."

"Come on kid give us a description. We'll find this guy" urges the other cop.

So I think back to that terrible moment. Hearing the gun fire, watching her body fall, looking into the killer's eyes as he gets scared and runs off when he realizes that I was about to come after him with no consent for my own life. As he ran I saw a tattoo on his ankle.

"Blue eyes. He had blue eyes and a tattoo on his ankle"  I finally answered as I look into the untouched coffee in my hands that were getting colder by the second.

"What was the tattoo of?"

"A bird I think"

"Good. Go home and get some sleep you'll need it"

I stood up and forced my legs to move though they felt like mush. I left the room and was in the station with her brother who was also a cop waiting for me. He doesn't like me at all but he was the only one waiting for me. I looked in his eyes and saw how red they were. I am not one for crying but I fell into him and pulled him close letting his tears fall onto my shirt. I quickly pulled away and he looked me in the eye.

"Find him!" I said to him

He nodded "I will"

"He needs to die"

"It's not my choice"

"He needs to"

"I agree. But go home and get some sleep"

He walked me out and I made the rest of the way home in weather that seemed to get darker and rain that seemed to come down a whole lot slower. The weight of the gun was getting heavy in my pocket. It was his. The murders. I promise that when I find him he's dead.

   June 7, 2012

It was hot outside and we were hanging out on the stoop of her apartment building eating ice cream, with her wild, curly hair in a bun behind her head. She was watching the little kids play across the street play hopscotch and I was just looking at her.

"Oh my God I wish I could play" she said out of the blue

"Play what?" I asked

She finally turned to me "Hopscotch"

"With the kids?"

She nodded "Duh"

"Why would you wanna play hopscotch with a bunch of 5 year olds?"

"Because I've never won a game of hopscotch and I would so beat their asses"

I laughed at her immaturity. She says she's not immature she's just not ready to grow up yet. I've never understood that, I just thought it was a side affect from her ADHD. A drop of ice cream fell off of her cone and onto her arm to a spot of ink. I wiped the ice cream off of her arm with my finger and licked it.

"You could've just licked my arm" she chuckled

"I don't know where your arms been and that would be gross"

I remembered the ink on her arm that she was trying to hide under her cuff. I grabbed her thin arm in my hand and took off the cuff. An infinity sign with a heart in it was tattooed on her wrist. It was surprising considering she was 15 with a tattoo.

"Don't tell my parents" was the first thing she blurted out.

"I'm not it's kinda cool"

"You think this is cool?" She gave me one of her sly grins "Follow me"

She stood up and opened the door. She led me up to her apartment which looked like any other old apartment in New York. 3 rooms, pictures on the wall, flat screen TV and of course the recliner. I followed her to a door with posters on them barely showing the door' s color. She opened it revealing a nice sized bedroom with purple walls, and the into the sign made of words. In the corner was a day bed with a curtain and zebra print covers. White Christmas lights hung on the walls and over the top of the bed. there was a book shelf with absolutely no space and a small desk with a labtop and 3 cellphone chargers pushed against the wall.

"I'm afraid of the dark" she said sitting on the bed and patronage seat onside of her.

I took it and looked at the giant infinity sign.

"The words make up things I want to do forever. Love, laugh, dance" she explained.

"How can you peace, Earth and fun?" I asked

She playfully punched my arm before flipping a switch and making the Christmas lights come on. They shined in bright colors and danced on the furniture and walls. She smiled looking at the lights around her. I think that's what I love most about her. Her childish attitude. Child-like as she would call it.

She was the type of girl who had a thousand thoughts in her mind about what she wanted to be when she grew up from things like super spy to actress. She had no idea where she was going but she walked and talked with such confidence that she'd make you want to follow her to nowhere and end up smiling about it.

"Have you ever thought about it?" She asked pulling me away from my thoughts.

"About what?"  I asked

"Infinity" she said "It means forever. Eternity. Like long after we're going and the alien robots have taken over the world"

"Alien robots?"

"Yes. I believe that aliens will control one side and robots the other"

"Not gonna happen. The dinosaurs are going to come back"

"What? Dude why do you think dinosaurs are going to come back?"

"Why do you think alien robots are going to rule the world?"

She grinned "Touché"

She layed her head on my lap and put her feet against the wall. She looked up at me with those big brown eyes of her' s that seemed to sparkle even without the lights, and gave me her famous smile that seemed to make the room brighter thank the lights ever could.

"Beautiful isn't it?" She asked

It's not the only thing, I thought.

She giggled "I heard that"

I started to run my fingers through her brown curls as she continued to look up at me and the thing she asked next surprised me.

"Why won't you kiss me?" She asked.

I raised my eyebrows at her "Do you want me to?"

She sat up and placed her hand on the back of my neck "Yeah"

I leaned in and pressed my lips against her soft ones. With that sparks just flew. Heat radiated threw my body giving me a feeling i forgot existed. The kiss lasted longer than it was supposed to by the time we pulled away there was only one thing to say and as if our mouths were still moving in sync we said it at the same time.

"Woah"
