Our Dark Minds

I am being escorted down long, endless hallways. The work of fine metals and gold on the walls was truly astonishing. We take a left, then a right, then another left until arriving at a door. The man who was my escort opened the giant, heavy gateway to another room and led me in by the hand.

"Lilyanace! It's so nice to see you! Thank you for coming on such short notice." I stopped the man for a moment, putting my thumb to my lips. As I turned to the back and began to observe the scenery, the door had begun to swing out. It finally closed with a boom and the gap between the double doors ceased to exist. I turned back to him with a glare on my face and hands on my hips.

"Yeah, enough with your sweet talk... Get to the point!"

"Yes, yes." He let out a deep sigh and began to run his forehead. I could see bags under his eyes. He looked so tired. "You see, we have some trouble..."

I leaned on the desk, putting all my weight to my arms. "Excuse, but will you just shut up for a moment and explain some things for me please. Where's the big guy, Why have you called me here and how did you know where I was? Those are the simple questions I want answered. Unless these get answered in the next five minutes, you're wasting my time and yours."

I stopped and plopped in a chair. I stared at the shiny watch on my wrist. Looking up at him every couple seconds, just waiting for him to break. He was so nervous, standing there, sweating a river. I knew I was intimidating, you could see it in his eyes... "It's not that easy, You see..." I was done with this. I slammed my hands on the table looking down at them. I knew how to subdue people and this would be easy. lifting my head, I looked up just enough so he saw the shadows of my eyes.

His sweating increased as my voice shattered the delicate silence. "Oh, but it is that easy... And if not..." I paused for a moment, tilting my head, closing my eyes briefly. "MAKE IT THAT EASY!" I realized my tone was hostile than intended, but that just drove it home.

I felt a slow rumble, that shook my senses. "Did you feel that?" He shook his head like I was crazy and raised his eyebrows at me. I flipped my head back and opened the big doors. There was a loud crash and the sky lit up with lightning. "Well... At least that's one question answered..." I ran outside, it was loud with thunder and random flashes of strobe seeming lights, lit up the sky. The repetitive flashes of light, made it so you could see the downpour of rain. From the lights and sounds of the storm emerged the mighty god of thunder... Thor...

"Is that you?" He walked up to me, his gold hair perfectly styled and his silver armor, fading away.

"Is that really you Lilyanace?" He tilted his head in confusion.

"Yeah, it's me... It has been a while since I've seen you too..." He grabbed me and pulled me up to him in a hug. I wasn't short but I wasn't as tall as this god either. He set me down after the hug he just had to give me. I looked at the assistant guy. "Now, can you answer the other two questions?"

He smiled and pointed to Thor.

"Uh... Yes! He can!" He hid behind the giant, burly god in front of me.

"Am I that bad? Do you think I should tone it down?" I looked

up at Thor. He shrugged, turned to the assistant guy and rolled his eyes at the him.

"Come with me!" He put his hand on my lower back and started to lead me down more halls and corridors. The air started to become more fowl with darkness as we went farther to the east. The halls seemed longer and the walls more tighter. You could barely walk without feeling a loss of some thought or feeling. It was a mind wash trick... to try and shake thing up in your head... I turned and realize none of the guards were left. Turning to Thor, I gave him a very cautious, yet questioning look. He didn't even look at me when he talked he was so good. "We try not to make them come down here unless they have to..."
