*Kianna*
Weddings are the time where the love between two people are binded as one. They are a time filled with joy and happiness. They are the time where everyone came together to wish the two happy souls a long and prosperous life as husband and wife.
I loved weddings ever since I was a young girl. Maybe it was the endless parties. Maybe it was the great food and dancing. Maybe it was seeing the emotions of the bride and groom as they say their "I do's" and promising one another to take care of each other for the rest of their lives. I just found weddings absolutely beautiful.
In my mind my wedding was already planned. The table setting would be a in a bright royal blue colour with white roses in a vase with sparkling jewels covering it as the centerpiece. The chairs would be covered in white and a fabric in the same royal blue would be tied around it in a bow. I sighed, I had everything figured out from food to table settings, but I just haven't found one of the most important people in the wedding. The groom.
I put my thoughts of my own wedding aside and focused on the task in hand. There were only a day till Rebecca's wedding and everyone was running around trying to make everything perfect. My job was to set the tables for the rehearsal dinner that was tonight. I placed the box I was carrying on the table and took out a vase from it and placed it in the center of the table. Time to move on to the next table. I picked up the heavy box once again and almost tripped on the lighting wire. Just then a hand caught me.
"Need some help there?" The person asked. I looked up into the eyes of a man I didn't know. Oh my, he was the definition of gorgeous. He had shining grey eyes. He was at least half a head taller than me. He was wearing a red polo shirt matching it with white khaki shorts. The shirt revealed his toned arms and chest. He looked like he just walked out of a magazine. I guess he caught me staring because his mouth broke out into a grin. His smile was to die for.
I quickly straightened up. "No, I've got it."
"Hi, I'm Liam. And you must be Kianna." He stretched out his arm.
"I'm not really in the position to shake hands but hi. I don't remember seeing you before, but how do you know my name?" I asked him.
"I'm Derek's best friend. I'm the best man for this wedding actually. I know you're name because every time I see Rebecca, she's always talking about you." He took the box from my arms. "Us Martin's never let a women struggle."
"Pfft. I wasn't struggling at all. Us Edwards never let a man judge their strength and ability to work." I tried grabbing the box back, but it only made him chuckle.
"Looks like this Martin is starting to like this Edward." He said as he winked at me.
I didn't reply, but looked away shyly. This man knew how to make a woman swoon. Instead I tugged on his arm and pulled him with me towards the other tables. "We have work to do."
*************
"Come on, just one dance please." Liam pulled me up from my chair.
"I can't dance!" I told him for the hundredth time tonight.
"You won't be that bad, I'll teach you, just follow my lead." He said as he dragged me to the dance floor. When we got there he placed my arms around his neck and he put his hands on either side of my hips. We stood there swaying to the slow music. "See you aren't so bad."
I purposefully stepped on his foot. "Oops, I guess you spoke to soon." I only got a laugh in reply. I was started to love his laugh. It just sounded so angelic. This man was amazing.
We danced some more in mutual silence, but there was nothing awkward during this silence. It felt calm and I felt safe in his arms. When the song ended we both walked off the dance floor hand in hand.
