As I wave goodbye to Zendaya, the butterflies slowly leave as her car gets farther and farther away. I was kind of dreading going back home. I wanted Zendaya to turn back around and take me somewhere magical. Somewhere that distracted me.
As you can tell, my home life isn't exactly ideal. Don't get me wrong I love my parents and I don't doubt they love me back, but most times I don't feel loved . Yes, I like girls. When I told my family this 4 years ago, they were shocked, then angry. Not my brother though. He accepted me and loved me just the same. I really miss him.
I walked in my home seeing my dad on the couch watching some sports game.
"Hey dad." I say taking my shoes off. No response.
"Um I had a good first day. I made a friend." I try to get him to seem at least a little bit happy.
"Good." He said in a low, bored voice. I gave up and went to the kitchen and saw my mom making dinner.
"Smells good, mom." I complimented her with a smile. She looked at me a forced a small smile. I decided to try to help her but getting out an ingredient from the fridge, but she stops.
"No sweetie. I got it. Thank you." She says in the same tone as my dad. I stood there looking at her, then at my dad through the door way. Both ignoring me, like I'm some burden. I walked upstairs to my room then plopped myself in my bed, replaying the memories with Z today. For the first time in a long while I'm excited to go to school tomorrow.
