Harry's POI (Point of Interpretation)

"We can't keep doing this Harry."

I hear her voice in my head as I watch Amber slide down the slide and land on her butt. Instead of crying, Amber giggles and lifts herself up, then waddles over to the kid monkey bars.

"We're better off this way. This is for the best."

I hear her voice again. I scowl at the thought. The best my ass. She just didn't want to raise our child. She was too consumed in herself and everything to even realize that she was a mother.
Amber jumps and clings to the first bar. Her short arms start to slip, but somehow my little girl manages to make it to the second bar. At the sixth bar, she slips off and falls. I jog over to her side and scoop her up.

"Daddy! Did you see me? I made it to bar number six this time!" She exclaims and holds up six fingers in my face.

"That's a big improvement. Yesterday you only went to the fourth one?"

"Yea, but one day I promise you daddy I'm gonna make it across all the bars. And I won't fall once!" She declares.

I smile and kiss her cheek.
"When you make it all the way, I'll be there watching you. I will catch you if you fall. You know that right?"

She scrunches her eyebrows and softly taps my shoulder.
"Why of course daddy! We are in this together right. Besties forever remember?"

She holds up her bracelet on her arm that has BFF inscribed on it and holds up my matching one too.
I laugh and kiss her again.
When we get to the park bench, I set her down and she grabs her blue Cinderella backpack. I hold out my hand and she grabs it. We swing our hands back and forth as we walk over to the motel.
