Chapter Four:
*Echo's P.O.V*
I looked around, still half asleep, i was trying to find Leon. I didn't find any breakfast out on the table and that was unfortunate, i was really in the mood for bacon, but when am i not.
I rubbed my eyes and looked out the window, how long did i sleep for? It was still dark outside.
I searched in the living room, then in the kitchen again, and then in my room, the bathroom, and his room. The house wasn't that big so he couldn't have went very far.
He was probably out with his friends. At least he could have told me. Oh well.
I walked back into the kitchen to find something to eat, i was now fully awake and noticed a note on the fridge.
It Read:
Echo,
I'll be back later.
Hey, look! I actually let you know what i was doing!
Leo
I rolled my eyes at the note. What a jerk. I grabbed a granola bar and munched it slowly, thinking now what to do. I'm bored. T.V's dumb.
Aaron slowly made his way to the front of my mind, I'm pretty sure I don't have his number. I might be able to try telepathy? I don't know if he would hear me from all the way over there, and if he could that would, one, be extremely creepy because he'd be able to hear what i'm thinking, and two, mean he's older than me, which he is.
Eh, what the heck. I attempted to send messages through my brain, and got no reply.
"Well, Thats a Fail." I said outloud.
'Sorta, I got it, but..i was closer than you expected.' I heard from my mind. Well then...
'Yeah, look behind you.' i heard again.
I turned around and saw Aaron smirking. He waved. I raised my eyebrows.
"How'd you get in?" i asked bewildered, i would have definitly heard him coming. Maybe not that far away, cause i sort of lied about my "supersonic hearing and seeing" and such, i can see and hear abnormally well though. My strength is also not even close to humans.
"The Door," he stated simply. I just shrugged, i wan't to learn that.
"What are you doing here?"
"You wanted me, didn't you?" He plops himself down on my couch.
"Well, yes."
"Ok Then."
I sat down next to him. Having him here didn't help at all with my boredom. I glanced over at Aaron for a split second, unsure of what to do now. It was pretty awkward now, just sitting on a couch in complete silence. My fingers tapped the arm of the loveseat, I sighed. Biting my lip, i switched positions on the couch so my back was to the arm and both my feet were facing Aaron. I looked around the all familiar room yet another 100th time.
I. cannot. Take. This. Any.more. I'm slowly dying from being bored. I looked around, what was there to do?
"We could play truth or dare," Aaron suggested.
Hey, that isn't such a bad idea. I have'nt played Truth or Dare in forever. Leon never wanted to play with me, he always thought it was 'immature'. Really? Him of all people would love Truth or Dare because it's IMMATURE.
Leo was probably one of the most immature people i've met. He's just a party pooper is all.
We agreed to truth or dare.
"Truth or Dare?" Aaron asks me.
"Dare."
"I dare you...to...tell me one thing that scares you."
What kinda dare is that? Dares are supposed to be an action, that falls into more of a truth question. What is one thing I'm scared of? The answer was obvious. I didn't have to think, i answered just as fast as he asked.
"Rejection." i said biting my lip.
He raised his eyebrows, "Rejection?" he burst out into a loud chuckle and shook his head.
"Thats not something you get scared about."
I rolled my eyes at him, "What are you scared of then?"
"Nothing" He smiled and i had an irresistable urge to punch him in the eye.
*Leon's P.O.V*
The old decaying bridge creeked as i walked over it. The red paint was now chipped off, leaving only a few blotches of red. Vines crawled on the edges and rails. The water beneath was filled with moss and showed no signs of life. What a depressing scene, i said to myself.
Of course i'm nervous for meeting Unknown, who wouldn't be? Randomly getting a message from someone you don't know that knows your a shifter. Maybe it was Echo playing a prank on me? But how could she do all that? Eh.
A peice of paper flew by me, scraping the ground and then going back in the air. I was curious as of what could be on the paper, so i chased after it. Grabbing it before it went in the air, i walked back to my spot and opened the small peice of paper.
In black neat handwriting was my name at the top, along with a small message stating i was to be at this very same bridge in a week. Only at this time i had to be here at 2:00 in the morning.
I furrowed my eyebrows and saw that it didn't have a name at the bottom. Not letting me know who's giving me these messages.
I looked around, hoping to see someone or something that would give me a sign as to who wrote it.
Sure enough, i noticed a black figure staring at me, it was to far away to tell who it was but whoever they were they sent shivers down my spine. The figure turned around and walked into the woods, urging me to follow it.
And so I did. The shadow was far away but stayed in sight but always made sure that i could see it.
Through the woods i went, trying to make as little noise as possible, even though the figure knew i was there, something told me to stay quiet.
I treaded over large branches and crunchy leaves, occasionally hearing odd noises. I knew it was my mind playing with me, but i got the feeling that it wasn't.
I felt eyes on me, sensed danger, but continued to follow the shadow. I was regretting it but i already made it this far, and i didn't know how to get out of these woods, and for some reason, the shadow gave me that safe vibe, that i could trust it.
Eventually the shadow stopped and i was directly behind it. I couldn't see what it was looking at, so i stepped beside it. I gasped and my breath caught. I looked over and the shadow was gone, leaving me to see the sight by myself.
