A Game of Love

Chapter 4

You slept in the nurse's office. Both of your eyes were injured, and you head was leaking blood, but not too much. You slept almost peacefully as you cuddled the soft blanket. But nightmares of Mr Pope came in. Just the thought of getting taped yourself made you want to cry. You didn't want to lose your virginity.

You squirmed around for a while, kinda whimpering very few minutes. You jolted awake but couldn't see anything. You started panicking until you remembered Mr Pope had injured your eyes when he dropped you on the table. You flopped back on your face and groaned. You heard a knock on the door.

"Whoever it is, it better not be Mr Pope, or I'm gonna kick the shit out of you; even if I can't see," you said, muffled in the pillow.

"Wow, you really hate him that much?" Said Riley's voice. You sighed in relief.

"Come in," You muffled. Riley opened the door and walked in, sitting at the end of the bed.

"I'm sorry I wasn't there before he dropped you," Riley mumbled sadly.

"It's fine, I didn't expect you to burst in like a superhero and save the day once again," you muffled in the pillow once again. Riley laughed. You flipped over on your back. You both sighed.

"You can't see?" Riley asked. You nodded.

"When I hit my head a crack went through my skull, reaching my eyes and damaging them badly," You added.

"So your blind now?" Riley asked.

"No, not permanently, but for a while," you responded. You heard Riley sigh.

"Imma beat him the next time I see him," Riley growled. He put his hand on your ankle. You heard another knock on the door, and Mr Pope came in. Riley screeched and stood up. You sat up, confused, until you heard Mr Pope's voice.

"I'm so very sorry Lee," He cooed. You growled and felt around for something to hit Mr Pope with. You grabbed a wooden board and you swung it at the direction you heard Mr Pope. You missed and hit the counter. You noticed he can dodge now.

You whirled around and your ears turned on. Riley threw a punch at Mr Pope, knocking him back. You went to the sound of Mr Pope growling. You swung the board at him and hit the back of his head. He fell over and hit his head on the counter.

"Woohoo! Nice swing Lee!" Riley cried happily. You smiled.

"Let's get rid of him now before he wakes up," Riley said, dragging Mr Pope by his legs. You grabbed his arms and followed Riley. You opened a window and you and Riley started swinging Mr Pope, gaining momentum.

"Ready..... one..... two..... three!"

You let go of Mr Pope out the window, but something terrible happened.

Mr Pope woke up and grabbed hold of your arm. As you slid across the floor, screaming. The school was 100 feet tall.  You clawed at the floor and Riley grabbed your hands. He struggled to pull you up, since Mr Pope was holding onto your leg. You kicked at his hand, trying to save your life. Riley was sliding across the floor, inching towards the open window. Suddenly, Roxie Max, and another girl jumped into action. They all grabbed both arms, and hurled you halfway in the window. You finally kicked Mr Pope one more time and he dropped, screaming as he fell

You crawled up into the window blindly.

"Lee, this is Lexi," said Max, pushing the girl up to you. Of course, you can't see her, but you held out your hand to shake.

You could feel her smile and she shook hands with you.

"What happened to your eyes?" Lexi asked.

"That sicko that might've just died dropped me head first on a table, which damaged my eyes," You replied, touching the gory part of your head.

You heard Lexi sigh. It sounded like she was disappointed in Mr Pope, as if she were his mother.

Two boys came running down a hall, you could hear their loud thumping and laughter as they ran by.

"Hey Max, hey Riley!" called the first boy.

"Hey guys!" called the second boy.

"Hey Cody, hey Colin!" Called both Max and Riley. It seemed as if the first boy were Max, and the second was Colin. Another kid ran by, huffing and muttering under his breath.

"You ok Joe?" Asked Max.

"Yep," replied Joe sarcastically.

"Woah, seems like he's in a bad mood," Rosie whispered to Lee.

"Yeah, because my girlfriend just cheated on me!"
