Chapter 4
The rest of the day went by pretty quickly. At lunch Ryan kept on glancing at Kayla's group, trying to figure out what had happened at recess. I got a bit annoyed at that, but it was quite funny how confused he was. I disregarded him for the rest of lunch and focused on talking to James, another person in Ryan's group. Sandy blonde hair, slightly tanned and green eyes. Yeah, he was adorable. He was basically the boy girls swooned over after being rejected by Ryan. Unlike Ryan, James was actually such a sweetheart to the girls. He respects them and always lets them down easy, he's never really been interested in relationships before.
I talked to him about an upcoming assignment we had in Geography but eventually it got boring so I grabbed my earphones and listened to music the rest of lunch.
Beep. Beep. Beep.
Honestly, my alarm clock is the bane of my existence. I rolled out of bed (literally) and dragged myself across the floor to the bathroom where I eventually stood up and groggily turned the water on. I waited for the temperature to even out and stepped into the shower. I got out of the shower after a while and checked the clock. 8:20am. Well damn. I hastily got ready and ran out of my house towards school.
As I approached the boys' table, I noticed Kayla standing closer to Ryan than a normal person would. I mentally praised Kayla, by the looks of it, our plan was working. Ryan was slightly sweating, playing with his watch and stuttering. He was so nervous. I smirked and hid behind a wall, being careful not to destroy this priceless moment. Grabbing my phone, I started recording Ryan's flustered moment. Except, then, Kayla did something I didn't expect at all. She pinned him to the wall behind them, looked straight into his eyes and started making out with him. Now, don't question me, but at that time I was pretty pissed. I don't even know what came over me, but I strode over to them, grabbed Kayla's hair (ruining their make out session) and yanked it, hard. This may not seem too bad but trust me, it hurts, a lot. Her shriek brought me back to reality and I realised what I had actually done. I gasped and let go of her hair immediately, which was now extremely messed up. Then, for the second time that morning, she did something I didn't expect. She glared at me. Kayla Waters never, and I mean never, glares at people. She's just not the type of person to get mad, especially not over guys. Although, I guess pulling her hair was pretty upsetting.
"Don't you ever interrupt things like that ever again," she warned.
What the actual hell was going on? This never happened, Kayla is just like James, she isn't interested in relationships.
"And also, stay the hell away from him," she added.
Alright, that pissed me off. What, was she on her period or something? She has absolutely no right to tell me to stay away from my friends.
"Make me," I replied, daring her to try.
She paused, looked at me with hatred in her eyes and full on slapped me. I stumbled back from shock but steadied myself after a second. And then, I pounced on her.
