Oh people of Kufa!
Hear my voice and gather,
Stand together and unite as brothers,
Wear your armour and stand tall with valour.

Do you hear the cries of your master,
Do you not want to uphold Islam's holy banner,
Do you not want to give your life for Aba Abdillah,
And drink from the fountain of Kauther,
My brothers join me and protect your Akhirah,
Over this duniya.

Oh people,
I am Muslim,
Hussain's harbinger,
I was sent to witness your honour,
To see whether you fear Allah.

Do not listen to Ubaydullah's lies,
His every breath,
The religion of Islam,
It defies.

Oh people of Kufa,
Hussain's message is one of love and peace,
He stands up to oppression and justice he seeks,
Mountains bow to him and stars surround his feet,
Without Hussain's existence,
This world would be incomplete.

Oh people of Kufa,
Rise against the transgressors of Allah,
Protect the Kaaba and the message of the Prophet,
Protect this message of wilayah.

Oh people,
You have abandoned me,
In this hour of need,
On the day of Judgement,
Who will on your behalf intercede.

I look over the city of Kufa,
And apologise to you,
My master,
As I am about to be massacred,
In God's name,
I am honoured to be one of the first martyrs,

Your most loyal supporters have been brutally massacred,
Or taken as prisoners,
My last wish,
Oh Hussain,
Do not visit Kufa.

Oh People of Kufa,
I came here with my young sons,
In this city,
They know no one,
If you see Ibrahim or Muhammad,
My beloved children,
Show them the directions for Medina.
