[Sayuri's Pov]

The next morning, I was called to the main house again. This time around, the lord was in a foul mood.

"Father."

"Mn."

Taking that as an acknowledgement, I went to my seat and settle down. The evil lady enters the room after a while.

"My Lord."

"What did she say?"

The Lord looks at his wife with a pained expression.

"Minori is refusing to come for breakfast, My Lord."

Rolling my eyes, I scoff internally. Have they never seen a child throw tantrums? I know the Lord is biased and favours the older daughter, but to react like this just because she doesn't want to have breakfast is unbelievable.

Slamming his cup on the table, he stood up and left the room. Startled by his action, the evil lady ran out after him. Seeing that his master has left the room, Takeshi excused himself.

Looking at the empty seats around me, I let out a sigh. Things don't change, do they? When I was Sayuri, I was always alone. Even as Shirayuri, I am still left alone.

"Shirayuri-Hime!"

Getting up from my seat, I slide the door open to reveal a panting Shin.

"A...A" He panted.

"A what?" I asked.

"A-A man has requested t-to meet you. He's waiting at the gate."

Dismissing him, I walked to the gates to find a middle-aged man standing beside two horses. Upon seeing me, he bowed.

"Allow this servant to introduce himself. I am Tadashi. I've been tasked by Masamune-Sama to bring you gifts."

I was taken aback by his politeness. Excusing himself, he removes the boxes tied around the horse. In a matter of seconds, he had placed three boxes on the ground and open each one of them.

"Here are the gifts send by Masamune-Sama. All of the trendy kanzashi in the market, ten pieces of Kimono made with the finest quality and needles for self-protection." He presented the gifts proudly.

"What's the meaning of this?" I asked.

He seemed taken aback by my question as his mouth parted a fraction. Who wouldn't be? When a Bakufu sends you a gift, it's considered a great honour.

"My Lord has also asked me to deliver a message."

"Do tell."

"My Lord feels apologetic for the incident at the Izakaya. These gifts are sent as an apology." He paused and looked at me.

"He's sorry?"

"Indeed, Hime-Sama."

"I see."

Bending down, I closed all three of the boxes. Dusting my hands of non-existent dust, I placed one hand on my hips and shouted, "Shin!"

"Y-Yes, Shirayuri-Hime?" He questioned, appearing from his hiding spot. I knew he had been watching.

"Put these boxes back on the horses."

"H-Hime-Sama?!"

The look of disbelief on Tadashi's face was priceless.

"Please tell Masamune-Sama that I do not accept his apology."

"H-Hime-Sama!"

"I'm not trying to make things difficult but I believe an apology has to be sincere. If Masamune-Sama wants to apologise, please tell him to do it personally." I replied.
