Under Control.
~~~•~~~
You help up someone who's fallen over then collect the items they were holding. You ask if they're okay and they say yes. However, as they run away you notice their limp and the rip down their jeans.
Another crash happens not too far down the road and this time you run after it. This person is leaving an obvious trail behind them, only a few people have been hurt from what you can see. For the most part it's just magazine racks and sign posts that have been knocked over.
The closer you get to the guy the stronger your quirk irritates your head. He's angry, you can Definitely feel that, but he's also scared, panicked. His quirk hasn't come back to him yet so he's just running about at a normal speed, he's actually quite slow without it.
If you can get to this guy, close enough to touch him, then maybe you can use your quirk to calm him down. If he chills out before any hero comes then he could avoid getting in trouble.
Well, at least, you think that before the man stops punching signs and starts punching people.
You run, you keep running until you catch up to him and get close enough to grab his arm. Okay, what's the plan now? The guy throws you off with some struggle. He doesn't look strong but he still could hurt someone. It's better for him to have his attention on you instead of others.
The guy tries to grab you again, his arms reach out to hold you by the shoulders but you manage to stop him by catching his wrists,
You keep him still for a bit.
You've to use your quirk on him, he needs to calm down.
Earlier he had a bag, you saw it briefly, that bag is now gone. If he stole something then he lost it. If he started a fight then his attackers aren't here anymore. He just started trouble for no reason. The guy is panicking. You need him to calm down.
You feel the tension in his body subside as your quirk takes affect. The feeling of panic begins to go away, your head feels lighter, your quirk just loves to give you headaches from other people's emotions.
The man doesn't stop struggling but he becomes gentler. Eventually his arms fall to his sides so you let go of his wrists.
"It's okay—"
You're cut off when Some material wraps around you, there's a second of confusion before you're pulled away, at first you think it's another guy, an accomplice. But as you're dragged backwards you see it's instead a taller man with long dark hair. He looks down to you with flat eyes which shows he's already fed up with the day.
"Hey," you say with some annoyance. "I had it under control."
"You're a kid. Stay here and wait until this is over." EraserHead let's you go and heads towards the Guy. You need to widen your vocabulary. You can't just call every man you don't know 'the man' and 'the guy'.
Oh, Eraser must have cancelled out the man-who's-name-you-do-not-know's quirk. That's way too long of a name, just stick to 'the man' and 'The Guy'.
You've done some mediocre research on Eraserhead and other teachers at UA. Apparently Eraser likes to expel kids if he doesn't think that they're good enough or if their actions are too un-hero-like. If you're going to get expelled then it'll be because of him. The chances of that happening are pretty high too.
You watch as he uses that weird scarf thing to immobilise the man, the guy doesn't try to put up a fight, he mainly looks like he's defending himself. He's easily caught and the police are called to take him away.
As all of that work is done, EraserHead walks over to you sitting on a bench along the side of the road.
You've had multiple opportunities to leave, but considering that this guy is going to be your teacher next year, you've decided to listen to him and not get Pre-Expelled.
"You shouldn't have run into that situation." He begins and you're not too sure whether you should be making eye contact with him or looking at the floor but the floor seems right. Every now and then you look up to see the guy get put into handcuffs and pushed into a police car. "You've had no experience dealing with people like that and you could have gotten yourself and others hurt." You want to go off on a rant with that. You didn't put anyone in danger, you took them out of it. Yes, you could have gotten yourself hurt and you were aware of that. But it meant others weren't going to get hurt and that's what mattered.
No, what really mattered to you was making that guy calm down. Helping him to stop before he could get in trouble.
The police car drives away and waves your failure in your face. Who knows, this could have been the guys tenth offences. Maybe he's killed someone before.
But he was just scared.
"Did you even plan what you would do? What if he had a knife, or a gun? People don't purely rely on quirks." He adds and stops talking, he's actually looking for a response.
"He was scared." You say, you feel young and dumb for saying it but it was the only thing on your mind when you went to stop him. "He had no idea what he was doing either. I tried to calm him down with my quirk but," EraserHead looks down to you impatiently.
"But what?"
"I wasn't lying when I said I had it under control."
Perhaps, you sounded a little bit pissed when saying that. A bit too sharp and cocky. You didn't roll your eyes though, you very nearly did but that's probably a bit too disrespectful in this setting.
You then feel different, there's a pain in your head. Your quirk, it's gone. You look up to EraserHead, his hair is floating and his eyes are red. You look back to the ground.
His quirk, He can cancel people's quirks. He must be cancelling yours.
It hurts your head. You have to actively use your quirk to stop yourself from getting a headache. Hormones hurt!
Also you perhaps, about, Always use your quirk to give you somewhat of a confidence boost. Who wouldn't? It's literally what your quirk is made to do!
"If you're going to use your quirk to be rude then don't use it." He says before his hair drops and you feel your quirk again.
You hated that.
"I'm sorry Sir, but I still mean it." You say and stand up. "The guy had calmed down, he wasn't a risk to anyone." There's a moment where you think that Aizawa is going to talk (you found his name while looking into UA) you cut in before he can say something. "I know, that doesn't excuse whatever he did. What did he do?" You ask, he looked like he'd done nothing.
"Armed robbery at a bank down the road."
"Oh my God, really?" You cover your mouth. Okay so maybe that guy was bad.
"No," Aizawa says, Okay what the fuck. "But you never know what the person has done. Heroes have to treat every criminal with equal suspicion. They can't just let them go because they don't seem bad."
You want to disagree but you see his point. You don't know what that guy did, but you knew he was trying to hurt people.
You sigh and fix a piece of hair that was annoying you. Man, you hope this guy doesn't hold a grudge or else the next three years of your life will be rough, rougher than the last fifteen. You kinda feel like you've already sealed the deal on your future expulsion, this guy has expelled entire classes before. All of those students dreamed of becoming heroes and he just put a halt to that desire in seconds.
Good thing that you don't really want to become a hero.
"You work at a school which trains students to become heroes. Don't you think it's a bit stupid to expel those students before they even have a chance to Learn this stuff." You say and start heading down the street. "But hey, guess I'll probably just be one of those students huh, see-ya Shota." You lift your hand, you don't turn around, you don't even look at him.
You're probably going to get expelled.
