"Please don't hurt me! Please let me go! I promise I won't say anything, just let me go!"

Sweat was dripping down her forehead, her eyes wide in fear, she glanced behind the man holding her down and saw her child crying and screaming at the top of his lungs. Her baby was terrified, she needed to hold him, soothe him, tell him everything would be alright. Instead she was trapped under him, as he held her wrists in a tight grip preventing her from moving, the more she struggled the more pressure he'd apply. She needed to free herself, she had to survive, for his sake, her baby could not be left alone in this world, not while he was still alive.

The baby's cries got louder, his face was now scarlet red. The only light coming into the room was the moonlight from the window. She was unable to concentrate on anything else besides her baby's discomfort. Her eyes never left the child, not even as the knife was plunged into her abdomen, not once but thrice. She screamed out in agony as the pain shot through her body causing her to slump down onto the cold hard floor unable to move. She was no longer struggling beneath him, all that could be heard was the cries of her child she had left behind. The man lifted himself off the woman and brushed the dirt from his trousers. He turned to leave, glancing at the baby crying and reaching his little hands out towards where the woman lay. The man held the child's gaze for a second too long, causing him to see the pain and fear in the child's eyes as he walked out of the room.
