The rain pelted harshly against the school windows. It drew my attention away from studies, allowing me to free my mind of any emotional or deep thoughts. I just stared away at the water flowing down in large drops.

The sky was gradually becoming darker. It seemed all too familiar to me. With the storm slowly rolling in, the atmosphere became lighter. It felt like I could finally breathe.

"Lilla?"

I quickly fastened my gaze onto my textbook the moment Jae-won called my name. I swallowed back my small fear, hoping he would just ignore me. But after awhile, my attention averted again.

"Lilla!"

"Huh?" I caught Jae's intense eyes staring holes into me. In attempt to look sorry, I bit my lip and went back to writing on my paper. In actuality, I didn't feel any remorse but decided I wouldn't fight.

After writing a few things down in my notebook, I was startled by the soft rumble of my phone. Slyly, I peered up at the teacher to watch his movements while slipping my phone from my short's pocket.

'Tard Toes sent you a text'

I scowled at my phone, then unlocked it to see what message my brother had sent. I hurriedly read it over before replying, glancing up again when finished.

'Mom wanted me to tell u dat the fewneral is this Sat. Tell your hub 2'

'Okay. Fine. I'm at school, so no more texts.'

I shoved my phone between my legs the moment I made eye contact with Jae. His eyes flickered down towards my legs where the sudden movement came from, but cleared his throat and turned away. "Class, may I please have your attention?"

Oh goodness, the accent again.

"Don't forget that our fieldtrip is next week. Please be prepared." Jae casually picks up a thin sheet of paper to read from. "I will name off the students who have yet to fill in their forms."

I ducked my head, shifting my phone from my legs and back into my pocket. Just as I was to finish my work, a very familiar song blared through the classroom, catching the students' attention. It played for a moment, but it already had my face contorted and stressed.

This is my heart beat song and I'm gonna play it

Been so long-

Forcefully, I hit the side buttons on my phone, making sure it was completely silenced. The annoyed expression I wore was bound to be Chang-Seong's fault. He was known for being a real prick.

"Miss Lilla?"

I scrunched my nose. "Yes?" I didn't dare to lift my head, but instead stayed in my position with a look towards Bo-mi for help.

Jae-won's paper dropped to his desk. "Please refrain from using electronics while I am speaking." His conscience was already leaving as we both realized he didn't want to fully scold me, although he should have. "You are also missing your fieldtrip form."

My lips twisted to the side and I sighed. "I'm not sure where it is," I say in a monotone. Even if I tried to recall where I placed it, the paper had a high chance of being lost in our move. "I just moved into a new place."

"Then request a new one. Here, I have a spare. Turn it in by tomorrow." Stretching out his long arm, he waves around a green paper for me to take. Slowly, I back out my chair before grabbing the paper from his hands.

I started to remember what happened the first day he gave out the sheets. At that time, I felt quite guilty for playing a game on the new teacher. I also was acting out more than I had liked. But now, I feel like the circumstances are different and our characters have swapped.
