Choosing The Right Fonts

So now that you have the picture you want, you need to add the words. You're fonts should not be too extravagant, nor should they interfere or take away from your picture.

For example, look at the cover on the side. The picture is of a teenage girl with a  crown of flowers around her head. When I was looking for the font to use, I wanted something that would show up, but that would also go nicely with the texture and mood of the image.

I chose the one I did because it fits in nicely with the picture, and doesn't take away from the girl.

Now, at the top of the cover, you see a much more basic font that has the author's name. It's better to use your prettier and fancier font for the Title and subtitle and use a more basic font for the author.

The Title of the story is more important. The author is important too, but you don't want to overdo use of fancier fonts.

If you keep everything fancy, it looks.....well.....unprofessional.

Sometimes, you want to emphasize a certain word, like on the cover for this book. I wanted to bring out the word 'Wattpad', so I gave it a bigger, bolder font.

If you are emphasizing something however, use a simpler font for everything else, like on the cover for this book.

Where did I find these fonts?

You're probably wondering where I got these because you can't get these fonts on iPiccy or Pixlr. I got them off of cooltext.com and also dafont.com works too. You can download fonts for free for your covers.
