The bell rings, signaling the end of the last day of school. The students rush outside, swarming me in a mass of backpacks, bustling, and body odor. The crowd ends up pusing me out the door.
Once outside, its a bit better though. Anna runs over. "Hey violet!" Ah yes. Anna. My best friend for six years. I just couldnt lose her. Chuckling, you hug. "you excited to turn sixteen next week?" She asks me lightheartedlty. "Well, it signals one year closer to leaving this awful place, so yeah i guess." I laugh. "See you next week!"
She waves by at me. The party was more for her sake.
Birthdays were just another day for me, but she was determined i would have a sweet sixteen. Its pointless to argue.

I knock carefully on the door to the auditorium. She had rented the WHOLE place, and invited the entire school. I shake my head. So extravagant. And of course, no parents. Typicall Anna. Greeting people as i weave through the crowd, she waves at me.
"Isnt this great?" She shouts.over the loud DJ booth. "I don't know half the people here!" I say. Soon, i realize some high school seniors had brought alchohol. I roll my eyes as a "waitress" offers me some. I decide to walk outside. I like alcohol, but ive got no interest on getting drunk tonight. After a while though, i start feeling dizzy, so i lay down on the grass. Soon, i fall asleep. Im jolted awake by an excruciating pain between my eyes.
