The towering red brick building slowly comes to life as light after lift flickers on through the uncurtained windows. In the sky above the radiant sun fights for its life through darkening clouds. The heaving smell of fall rain accompanies the beeping and loud rumbling of the first round of cars as they make their way into the large car park, fighting for the best park.
Stepping out of the silver Honda, I adjust my black leather jacket and pull my long brown wave of hair out from under my jacket. Pulling a large black handbag from the driver side, I swiftly lock her car with the press of a button, before removing my large black sunglasses to unveil my large forest green eyes lined with mascara clad eyelashes. The perfect outfit of dark wash jeans, royal red ribbed top and black leather ankle boots are enough to feel confident enough to make it through my first day. For some reason, West Walker Point High School was unable to process my transfer in time for the first day of school, so lucky I get to look like a complete idiot as I try to navigate the new hallways.
I'm not sure what to think about West Walker Point High School. Will it be anything like East Walker point High School? I seriously hope so. I liked that school so why the hell did I have to stuff up my life there?
Will there be rich stuck up girls, like the ones from Mean Girls? There probably will, every school has their version mean girls, even East Walker point High School did.
Will the boys be hot there? Please be some hot guys.
Will I make friends? I hope so. I don't feel like being that one creepy kid who has no friends and has to eat alone at lunch.
I'm the new girl. The nobody. No one will know me, surely. A fresh start. That's exactly what I need. Surely no one would know who I am.
Crossing the road towards the double door front entry to the school, I pass lines and lines of cars in differing colours and states of repair. I begin to cross the final road that lies between me and the front office before a loud rumble and black blur passes inches in front of me, causing me to jump back. It's a motorbike. I was almost hit by a motorbike on my first day at this new school. It's like this is my own welcoming party. Like the school is saying "Hi Cameron. Nice to meet you. This is a metaphor for the rest of your high school life, where you will wish to be hit by a speeding object. That is how annoying high school is."
Skidding to a stop just a few meters away, the tall person who is in control of the bike steps off and removes his black motorbike helmet to reveal a mess of shiny black hair. Placing his helmet on the bike seat, the man turns and strides towards me, his blue eyes cold with fury, but mixed with something else. His long black denim-clad legs allow him to be within steps of me in seconds, allowing me to realise how muscled he is under his dark faded Rolling Stones shirt. His frowning eyebrows and tight-pressed lips come within inches of my face. The smell of smoke emulates from his leather jacket as he takes a deep breath.
"What the hell!" he yells at me. How dare he yell at me? It was his fault. His eyes begin to enlarge as his lips curl back to release a low sound. Is he trying to be frightening?
"Are you trying to scare me? " I say innocently, taking a step back. He looks very angry right now. Oh well.
"Why the hell where you walking in the middle of the road?" He still yells with a slightly lower voice had lowered only a little as people start to crowd around. I didn't want this to be my first impression on my new classmates. Why the hell did this guy have to be so loud, like seriously does he need the whole world to know what he's saying.
"It's called a walkway, dumbo. You know where people walk across roads, without worrying about almost being killed that is," I yell back.
His eyes drop to the ground as he stares at the ground like now I was the big bad wolf and that almost killed him.
