The fact that it's 1am here and my brain just won't stop reminding me of this awkward yet cute encounter is driving me crazy.
I walk into my university turtorial and go directly to my designated seat at the back of the class. For once in my life I am early to class, so I decide to log into the computer and quickly read through today's materials while I wait for my only friend to join me.
The class starts filling with students, and a couple of my "friends" say hi and sit near you. I say "friends" because I am hella awkward and would run the opposite direction if I ever see them in public.
Today the class is arranged in a awkward U shape. To paint mental picture, think of a giant letter U, now in the inside of the U there is a row of computers, and likewise in the outside, making there 2 rows of computers. (I should just draw up a picture but I'm too lazy and tired).
Just as my professor salunts into class, my friend rushes to sit in the vacant seat next to me.
"Shit, I thought I was going to be late again." She says hurriedly logging in.
"Your on time for once J, chill." I say, laughing at her flustered state.
Logging in, she glances around class to see if she can find any familiar faces.
Quite the opposite of me, my friend J is a total social butterfly, she makes friends with anyone, anywhere.
Speaking of which, I hear her loud laughter behind me as I try listening to the professor.
I turn around with a glare and see her giggling with the French exchange student. I motion for them both to shut up before turning back to the front.
A couple of seconds later I feel a tap on my shoulder. Turning me head slightly, I'm surprised to find the French Exchange student sitting next to me with a smile.
I realise that he must have used his swivel chair to move next to me, so I didn't notice his presence.
"Hi," he says greeting me.
I reply back, with a smile before turning my attention back to the professor.
"Do you understand what he is saying?" Asks the foreign student next to me with a thick accent.
I turn my face to see him looking genuinely confused as he glances from the professor to his computer. I giggle at him, which makes him turn his head to me and smile.
"I will explain it to you later ok?" I say, which makes his smile broaden, before he thanks me and goes back to his computer.
I usually help him when he is confused. After he saw me re-teaching my friend, he asked I could teach him too, and since then whenever he is confused he would always ask me for help.
I didn't mind. He is pretty nice, if not for always flirting with J whenever he got the chance. It meant nothing though. For the two of them, it was just playful banter to pass time.
After the professor finished his lesson, he left the room to go fetch some extra materials and allowed us to work by ourselves.
Swivelling back to my computer, I begin doing my work when I remember I had to help the foreign student.
Turning around I see him already staring at me with his head resting on his hand, and a smile playing in his lips. Knowing he was looking at me from before, causes me to unconsciously blush.
