"Hurry, we need O.R. 4 open a.s.a.p " i hear the doctor saying. I can feel that i am being pushed very fast down the long narrow hallway.... i see my husband running beside me... i see him ....and then i dont.
..........4 hours earlier..........
"Babe, lets go were gonna be late!"
"Sorry honey, I just couldnt figure out how to put this damn tie on. " I just sit and chuckle... I think it is always cute when Dustin gets frustrated at himself.
Finally we get headed out the door and on our way to our daughters wedding. I had Lauren when I was 18 in highschool. YES, I know what you are thinking but it is Dustins baby. He is six years older then me but I love him. He knocked me up in highschool, but i do not regret it one bit. Lauren ia the best thing that ever happened to me. I now work as a Golf coach in highschool, while Dustin is a Pro Golfer. He travels alot but most of the time I get to go with him. Golf is the thing that brought us together and thatr we will share forever.
Lauren is getting married to Kevin. They have been dating for almost 2 Years now. I cant belive my little girl is alll grown up and getting married. These 20 years have been the best of my life and now i know that it is time for her to start her own life with Kevin.
We reach the Park when the wedding is gonna be held and the first thing I see is Kevin standing inside the Kassebo pacing back and forth. I wonder if he is nervous or having second thoughts.
"Dustin, why dont you go talk to Kevin and see if he's okay...he looks a little nervous." "Okay Babe, If he is thinking about backing out Man i swear i will...."
I cut him off no telling where he was heading with that " Just go.." I chuckeld
I walk into the tent where Lauren is. She is in her dress and she needs help lacing it up. I help her and then take a step back and look at her. I didnt realize I was crying until she walks over to me and wipes my cheeks off. "Mom, Its going to be okay." she comforted me. All I could say was "It seemed just like yesterday you were just my little girl and now..." She cuts me off.. "Mom, I am always gonna be your little girl." I look back up at her and smile, just as Dustin is walking in. He looks at her with the same reaction I had. "Oh gosh not again" Lauren laughs.
"Are you ready?" Dustin asked
"Only If you are dad." Lauren smiles and Dustin takes her hand...Just then the music starts playing. I rush out and find my seat next to my Twin sister. She has been there for me forever. I mean yeah we faught alot when we were kids but after we bothe left for college it seamed like we just got closer and closer.
I see Dustin and Lauren walking down the isle and everyone stands up. I cant believe this is actually happening my little girl is getting married today and moving on with the rest of her life. She makes it up to the top if the isle and Kevin takes her hand. the look so happy together and I am so happy for them.
The preacher starts to read all the traditional vows and saying that you would normally hear at weddings. We are a pretty traditional family. Then its time...
"Do you Lauren Harris take Kevin Smith to be your long full wedded husband?"
"I do" Lauren says smiling
"And do you Kevin Smth take Lauren Harris to be your long full wedded wife?"
"I...I...I. Do" Kevin finally spits out with a sigh of relief... I mean you cant blame him man who gets married always has their doubts. They think that their fun partyying days are over and alot of times it is but you just got to have the right girl, and Kevin well he does.
" I now pronounce you husband and wife you may kiss the bride"
As Kevin and Lauren come together it is like watching magic they look so happy and perferct for each other.
Just as they pull apart Kevin falls to the ground........and then so do I.
I can feel this massive pain in my chest... what is going on? I hear peopl screaming and running... then i see Dustin run towards me..."Somebody call 911!" My ears hurt from all the noise but i am pretty out of it I cant move and i dont know whats going on. Everything goes black. What just happened?
