Chapter 1-

Notes of the piano rummaged through my ears. My fingers played multiple keys, as I began to sing.

'Tell her not to get upset, second-guessing everything you said and done.. When she gets upset tell her how you never meant to hurt no one. You just tell her that the only way her heart will mend, is when she learns to love again...'

My voice broke out as I silently wept. I let the tears dry on my cheeks as I finished playing. Walking out of the studio, I got a text message.

From: Robin :)

Hey Cal, meet me at Starbucks? We can talk about it if you want.. Xx

I looked at the screen and sighed. Looking up from my phone to the Starbucks down the street, I saw Robin smiling sheepishly. I gave him a small wave, and walked towards the coffeehouse.

"How've you been, Callie?" Robin asked while we were sitting down.

"Just fine," I replied blankly. I knew I shouldn't keep things from him - he is my childhood best friend, afterall.

"Okay then... I just wanted to let you know that you deserve so much better than Clark," he responded. I cringed at the name 'Clark', my ex. "He did you wrong, and it'll backfire, just watch."

Clark most definitely did me wrong. Things were going great, or so I thought, when he sat me down for a talk. Telling me that he found someone else. Douchebag.

"Whatever Robin... Thanks, though. I appreciate your support," I smiled.

He smiled back, sipping his frappuccino. His gray eyes sparkled as he ruffled his strawberry-blonde hair. He was about to say something as his eyes traveled across the room, towards the door.

"Look who's here!" he said, emphasizing the last word. I turned around and saw a familiar face.

"KAY!" I exclaimed, running towards my best friend that moved away to the States.

I jumped into her arms and stuffed my face into her long, brown wavy hair.

"Hahaha, hey babe!" she swiftly replied as I climbed down. Robin walked over and hugged her, and it stayed that way for quite a while.

"Ahem," I coughed. They both blushed a little as they pulled away from each other's embrace. "Can we leave now? We could go to my flat?"

They nodded their heads as we left Starbucks.

"WHAT. AN. ASSHOLE." "I know..." "I'm going to murder him!"

Robin and Kay were going back and forth in this conversation, obviously about Clark. I hadn't told Kay about anything lately, since I had no way of talking to her. I explained how he left me for someone I can't stand at all, and how I've gotten a few gigs to perform at café. The usual happened, she expressed her hate towards Clark and praised me for performing at a couple of places. I sang a couple songs to them, whilst they danced around.

"SING WHAT MAKES YOU BEAUTIFUL!" Kay giggled, dancing with Robin.

"Cliché, much? But okay!" I laughed. I absolutely love One Direction. A lot of people think they're not talented, but they're completely wrong. I've watched every single X-Factor video, including their video diaries. I admit, I do have a soft spot for Harry Styles.

"Da, d-dum, d-dum, dum dum," Robin sang.

"You're insecure, don't know what for!"
