We stop by the market in the town just a few miles away away from the campsite to pick up a few things. My mother of course heads straight to the alcohol section. The parents usually get drunk every night at camp, but don't get me wrong, it's quite hilarious.
I wander around the crowded store, doing nothing in particular until the shelf of different CD's catches my eye. An array of different albums ranging from Green Day to the Top 40 Hits line the shelves. I pick up a few and admire them. I've always been a sucker for music. I love nearly every type of genre, music is just amazing.
Before my mother notices, I quickly buy a couple of the Green Day albums with my money and head back to the car. Of course I've heard all the Green Day songs before, it's just nice to have a physical copy. Plus, there's a CD player with some pretty loud speakers at camp, so that should be fun (especially because nobody there really likes my music taste).
Shortly after, my mom comes running out of the store, paper bag in hand. She loads the bag in the back of the car, and I can tell it's alcohol by the clatter of the bottles.
"I might actually let you try some vodka this year." She chuckles, I roll my eyes at her and continue to stare out the window at nothing in particular. My mother has always been pretty strict; no parties, no alcohol, nothing. I've always figured that's where I get my anti-social qualities from, I'm just lame.
Not much time passes before we reach the entrance of our property. We (cautiously) pass by our neighbours property first ([cough] they don't like us, probably because we're always loud).
As my mom parks the car, I see the two little Waters boys sitting on the bench together, swinging their legs. The familiar Lawley trailer is parked right next to our trailer that we left at the property from the last camping trip. Besides them, nobody else is here.
I hop out of the car and Mother quickly follows. Immediately, the parents of both the Lawley and the Waters family greet us with hugs. One adult that I do not recognise stands awkwardly to the side.
"Are you Mr. Caylen?" My mother questions. He gives a silent nod and sticks his hand out for a firm handshake.
"I'm Lucy, and this is Hazel," She introduces. I give him a shy, polite smile. I'm not good with meeting new people.
I follow my mother around like a lost puppy for awhile. The adults immediately dive into a boring conversation, leaving me to wonder where Kian and his friend are.
"Pardon to interrupt, but do you know where Kian is?" I quietly ask, tucking a strand of hair behind my ear.
"Oh I think he's in his trailer with Jc." His mother answers. I smile at her and quickly prance away. Just as I begin to reach for the door of the trailer, the door flies open to reveal and cheeky Kian.
"HAZEL!" He screams, literally. He nearly knocks me over as he engulfs me in a giant hug.
"KIAN!" I greet back, mockingly.
"I haven't seen you in forever! Jesus, have you grown?" A giant smile spreads across his face.
"You sound like my grandma." I laugh at him and he nods a bit.
"Kian, where---" An unfamiliar boy approaches the doorway of the trailer, and my knees nearly go weak.
He leans against the doorway, and I feel the need to admire ever part of him. And all I can think is, damn, he is fucking hot. He wears a green snapback that's actually quite similar to mine and he also wears a tight tank top that exposes his fine biceps. He has floppy brown hair that match perfectly with his sparkling eyes. He's literally the most attractive guy I've ever seen, and I've seen a lot. I'm truly left speechless as he stares at me.
