[Lia's POV]
"Okay. Ava Rossman, she always played an immense part in my life. The 16 year old had a whole life ahead of her still. She was not my friend, but my sister. She was my partner in crime, my follower, my supporter, everything I could want. Whenever I needed help, she was there. It 's sad to think about when Ava and I would lay on the grass in my yard and talk about our futures. I remember the day she told me she wanted to be a doctor. She was such a bright girl. I was an only child, so yes, I depended on her. I may be older, but I looked up to her. She inspired me in so many ways. I could go on forever about her. Why did she have to leave me so early? I miss her already, and hopefully she is watching over me. I love you Ava. Always have, always will."
I stepped away from the mic and sat down next to Ava's parents, who were crying. Her mom gave me a hug.
"You know, Ava loved you too. You meant a lot to her." She said to me.
After the funeral was over, I was walking to my car when someone grabbed my shoulder. I turned to see Jai.
"What do you want." I said, hoping he'd get the vibe that I didn't really want to talk to him.
"I was coming to talk to you, don't be a bitch." Jai replied. I laughed.
"And what do you want to talk to me about?"
"Look, I know we both hate each other, but we also both know Ava wouldn't want us to fight. I was the closest with her out of the boys, and I know you were one of her best friends. Maybe we should get to know each other. Here, call me or text me whenever." Jai handed me a slip of paper. I nodded in shock. Jai Brooks was being nice? Haha.
I got home and took a cold shower, and kept thinking about Jai. Okay, yes I'll admit he is pretty cute, but never in a million years would you see us two together.

2 Days Later...
I kept staring at Jai's phone number. Do I text it? I couldn't help it anymore. I whipped my phone out of my back pocket and dialed in his number.
To: Jai Brooks
From: Lia Rose
Hey it's Lia. I decided to text you cause like you said, maybe we should become friends. I think Ava would want it that way.
Did it sound too mushy? I sent it anyway, not really caring. Within a second later,
To: Lia Rose
From: Jai Brooks
Nice for you to reach out to me.. Haha yeah we should. She always told me we would make a cute couple.. ;) But you're in denial aren't you.. lmao
I laughed. Jai Brooks was already flirting with me. I answered him and decided to get something to eat. I ran to Subway across the street from my house and I bumped into him.
"Hey Jai." I said.
"Hey Lia." We both got in line.
"So.. Your getting a sub?" He asked.
"Yeah." I laughed. We talked for a while, talking about ourselves and laughing.
"So do you want to come over? The boys would love to meet you again." He said when we were walking out, eating our subs. I nodded.
"Why not?" We walked to his house, and to my surprise the boys lived right around the corner from me. We walked in the house and I saw the other boys playing FIFA.
"We're home!" Jai said, and all heads turned to us.
