A beautiful Saturday morning visits me at last. My first weekend from school ever since I move here. Assignments? Ha. That's for my Sunday midnight date. Work? Ha. On my way, ugh.

I wake up, brush my teeth and all, and greets my spider plant a morning. Maybe I should give it a name. 'Spider plant' is too long. A knock on my window interrupts the peace.

"Morning, neighbour." He smirks. Gosh, isn't it too early for that?

"Indeed it is a morning." I roll my eyes.

"You know, I saw a girl talking to a plant."

"For your information, you ignorant living thing, plant is also a living thing, you can talk to them."

"That's just crazy."

"That's just dumb. I thought there isn't anybody dumber than me, guess not." I shrugg.

"Why would you talk to them anyway?"

"It's necessary. Like how you spoil children with an abundance of compliments, it will affect their growth positively. It can even improve your social needs."

"Wow. An expert, huh? Never knew this side of you. And why the social needs, are you lonely? You know, all you have to do is to knock," the smirk is back.

"Ha. My dear bestfriend here can accompany me better than you." I scowl.

"Why are you even getting up early?"

"Got some work to do. How about you yourself, Mr. Nosy?" he scoffs before answering.

"Can't you see this bulging masculine asking to be feed? It's also a living things ya know." He flexes his arms in his training shorts.

"Nah, alright there, anymore delay and I'm going to be late."

"Want me to give you a ride?"

"No, thanks. I'll go downstairs and check my front lawn, just know if I see anything suspicious from last night, you won't be a living thing anymore." I give him a last glare and he rolls his eyes.

I wear the wood brown apron for the fifth time while Vincent accompanies me for the second time this week. He even arrives before me.

"Is this your main or side job?"

"Whatever you prefer."

"Pretty diligent for someone with drug dealer as his main job. To help feign your innocence when police come?"

"Maybe. Will you be my accomplice?"

"As in partner-in-crime?"

"Yeah, I'm informed enough about your address anyway."

"Are you blackmailing me?"

"I'm not conceding."

The friendly exchange ends with the sight of a customer. Of course, it's a Saturday and breakfast time, the shop seems to be more livelier that it has ever been — merely based on my experience. Humans need sweets to start the day.

We only share our small talks twice or thrice until Josh shows up, playing the professional worker hazel said. It's lunch time already and being the gentleman, he asks me to have my lunch first. Josh has brought the lunchboxes to the tiny kitchen room, for the worker's merit he once mentioned during the interview.

"Hey, Nora. How has it been, good?"

"Absolutely." I give him a convincing grin in between my bites. He chuckles.
