Ryuko's dreams have been vivid in the past couple of weeks. Always end the same, with the stranger who smells of milk, and honey. Tonight was no different. It felt even more real than she would like it to be. Walking down a flowery aisle was not something she saw herself doing any time soon. Yet, here she was, in a big pastry wedding gown, and both sides of the aisle filled with unknown faces. When she thought of the phrase," all eyes on me" she never thought it would be this frightening and intimidating.
As Ryuko reached the end of the aisle, her veil was lifted up by a man who was more beautiful than anything she's ever laid eyes on. Her breath got caught in her throat as she held in a gasp that was trying to escape from her mouth. Never in her life did she ever think someone so perfect existed. Even if this was all a dream. It didn't stop her from thanking the heavens for this image. The nameless man grabbed her hands and started reciting his vows.
The entire crowd was enthroned by their beauty. Although Ryuko knew this was a dream, she was still surprised everyone was in aw with her and her fiancé. As she recited her vows she felt the color drain from her face. What stood before her was not the mysterious man anymore. It was Anbessa, the captain of the track team. Although he wasn't the tall and slender guy she recognized, he was covered in hair. His pale blue eyes weren't there, they were replaced with these light blueish, greenish eyes almost cat-like in a way. Ryuko stepped back and screamed in horror. Anbessa was offended and growled at her and went in for the attack.
Ryuko fell back screaming when suddenly she woke up. Sweat was dripping from her face as she was gasping for air. Her dog, Magnus ran and jumped into her bed. She sighed and realized it was all just a vivid dream of hers. Magnus scooted closer as to be petted and to tell Ryuko it was okay. She acknowledged Magnus and petted his head. She thought to herself about what the dream meant. Her grandmother told her she could interpret her dreams the older she got, but here she was, with no clue what any of that meant.
"Alright Magnus, let's go get breakfast and we can go for a walk," Ryuko said aloud. They both got up and ran down the stairs. It was about five-thirty in the morning and no one else was awake. Just the way she liked it. Magnus began slobbering and barking for the kibble on the counter. Ryuko set it down and began looking for something she could eat. She didn't have any after-school activities since she quit jazz band so all she had to do was get through today. Another boring day in high school.
As she munched on a granola bar, she tried remembering the handsome guy's face that was her dream. Although she dreamt of him often, in the morning when she woke up she always forgot exactly how his face looked like. Her mother told her some witches could play back their dreams but she had no luck in doing so. Being a half-witch and half-shapeshifter sucked sometimes. Don't get her wrong, she loved being able to change into a huge wolf any time she pleased or be able to cast a spell when she forgets her homework at home.
The thing is, Ryuko only knew purebloods. Meaning that there was nobody like her and her brother. Maybe before the dark ages, when it was an absolute law to kill any halves. She thanked the heavens that she was born in this lifetime. Otherwise, she would've been dead from when she was a baby. Sadly, today all purebloods think it's better to stick with their "own" kind. That or the supernatural families were stuck in the old ways. That didn't mean her family wasn't important and nobles amongst the supernatural community. Her mother, Rita Le Desai Sciacca is from the clan Le Desai's. They use to be the most powerful witches but now they all are under law to keep their magic at bay.
Ryuko's father, Dov Sciacca is King Mondragon's right hand. The Sciacca has been associated with the Mondragon's since the shapeshifter kingdom couple thousands of years ago. So her family is pretty well known and aren't looked down upon. Yet, her brother and she don't make it known they exist. Ever since she was little her mother and father decided to raise her and her brother like normal kids. Just because her mother and father weren't looked down upon, doesn't mean Ryuko and Ernold were as fortunate.
Ryuko didn't want to dwell on past childhood memories. Magnus pawed at the back kitchen door, hoping Ryuko would let him out. As if on que, Ryuko waved her hand and the door flew open. The cool brisk air flooded the kitchen and Ryuko could feel
