The adrenaline pulsed through my battered and bruised veins. I grabbed the nearest diamond necklace, a selection of rings with varied expensive gemstones and carried on picking up the expenses until i heard a screeching siren nearing. I shoved the remainders of jewellery into my bag as I shot out of the back door, making sure to not touch anything else, even if i was wearing disposable gloves. I ran as fast as my legs could carry me, as weak as they may be. Through the dimmed alleys and trying not to tread on the broken shards of glass and used needles. I turned the last corner of the alley and out into the road, i could see the reflection of red and blue lights nearing the end of the road linking with the one i was currently crossing.

I snickered as I ran into the last alley, i never really felt claustrophobic in this alley before, but tonight it was different, the fences were shaky, the trees seemed to be whispering stories of death to the broken, cold wind. I let out a breath I didn't know i was keeping in when i drew to the end of the alley. I turned on my heel and ran round the corner, and ran into the grotty, lifeless, grey warehouse, through the black doors throwing all the jewellery on the floor and started climbing over the fence. I managed to catch a glimps of Mark grabbing the jewellery and putting it in a tub, buring it quickly in the sand, before pretending to do gardening. The police knew my exact route to here, and thought Mark was innocent, just a man with a love of gardening, the whole warehouse was covered in dusty photos of flowers and plant pots, gardening tools, all for a pretty decent cover-up. The police ask for directions where i go, and he always tells them she climbed the fence and i know his line 'i wish you would stop asking me, i t never changes me, your always on the nasty girls chase, and i cant stop her, ive tried plenty of times, believe me' they always nodded in approval and carrys on believing hes innocent, but then in reality he wasnt. He was my pimp, dealer and worst of all, boyfriend.

It was all silent again, the darkness almost overpowering me. I followed my feet to the warehouse, as much as my head and heart both told me  not to. I walked in and Mark enveloped me into a giant hug, ''Well done Mace sweet'art, you got plenty, that will get us a nice handfull of dosh!''  he almost, growled. He sat down with a fag and lit it up, smoke filling the air around us. ''Actually, i was wondering if i could keep this one necklace'' i said, gently whispering it, touching the delicate silver chain that had fallen loosly on the ground. I looked up with pleading eyes and he nodded. I couldnt believe it, usually he barks abuse at me if i ask for anything, guess he was in a good mood. I scooped it up, along with another necklace, three rings and a shambala bracelet. He didnt see because of my long sleeves, im just too good. I snickered and he looked at me knowingly, so I dropped a ring and looked at him with sorry eyes. ''Your a nasty little so-so, your stupid ways of pleasing me, but in reality your just doing it to please yourself-" I interrupted him with a simple laugh and ''someone clearly needs to down a couple more..." But before i could finish i got a strong punch in the stomach and a hit round the head, he stood over me, tall and proud of what he had accheived, blood trickling down my face, He managed to growl a laugh ''Ill have you know i don't, but someone should really run before I call the police and let them know that Little Miss oh-i-will-just-do-a-runner has come back. I hate you and I despise your whole existance'' he growled.

I warm blood-stained tear fell down my pale injured face, as i ran into the street hoping, with that tiny real person inside of me, that prince charming would come here and take me away, sweep me off my feet, dance with me in the rain, take me out just to watch the sunset, take me out just to watch the stars, come round with chocolate and icecream when i was feeling a bit down... just, to be part of a proper family, have a proper life. Guilt-free happiness. I shuddered as i realised what i had become, i just need somebody to love me, but i dont think anyone will.
