"UGH!" Zion groans out loud.

"How long till we're free?" Austin asks Mr. Roden who was typing away on his laptop.

He looks down to the corner of his screen. "One and a half hours." He replies, making all of us groan out loud.

"It's only been one half and an hour?!" Edwin asks hysterical before he drops his head onto the table.

"Guys! Can you please keep it down! I'm trying to read here!" Brandon says sternly as he turns around, a book in his hands.

I look over to Nick, who was still sitting next to the window, the detention room had a beautiful sight on the football court. Nick was watching his team mates were in practice without him. "Mr. Roden?" He calls up.

"Yes, Nick?" He sighs, looking away from his laptop again.

"Isn't it possible to cancel the last hour and let us go?" He asks full of hope.

"Actually, yeah? I have this party I need to go to and I have to get ready." Zion nods in agreement.

"Listen Mr. R, nobody has to know about it. It can be out little secret?" Edwin asks, trying to help Nick's offer. He smiles at him innocently before Mr. Roden sighs.

"If I let you guys go and the other teachers sees you, then I'm in trouble. And besides, Nick, even if I let you guys go. You think you can just join the practice? Coach knows you're having detention right now." He arguments, stating facts where we haven't thought about.

"Nick doesn't have to go to practice, that's fine." Edwin quickly says, holding up his hands.

"Excuse me?" Nick asks, high pitched and his eyes almost pinched shut, looking at Edwin with a are you serious-face. "Bro we're playing next week against Riverdale North High." He says, feeling attacked.

"Don't forget the after party at my place!" Zion slips through the conversation.

"Nobody cares about your stupid party, Zion." Brandon mumbles, not even bothering turning around again.

"Sorry, say that again, please?" Zion asks, straightening his position.

"Wait did I said that out loud?" He asks, swallowing thickly as he slowly turns around.

"It's okay buddy," Austin whispers at him, assuring him.

"Okay listen, I don't want to be here either." Mr. Roden sighs again, turning fully away from his laptop. He even smashed it close, causing al of us to flinch. "So you either shut up or I let you guys scrape gum from underneath the table!" He says sternly.

"Dang, Mr. R." Austin says, laid back with a shook face. "No need for you practically shout at us."

"I-" He cuts himself off before he bites on his knuckles, not knowing what to do. "I'm going to take a walk, count to 100, think about how much better it would be if I just became a life guard at the coast of Puerto Rico and when I'm back, you all are still here." He says and get's up from his seat.
