KEHLANI TURNED THE CORNER near the school, sighing. "I really gotta come here every day." She groaned in annoyance.
The good part was that she was graduating next year, and she wouldn't have to face seeing this old ass school anyways. But the bad part was, after summer you gotta go back to school.
She was planning on going to college, the same college as all her friends, to get it over with, and have something to fall back on if being a performer doesn't work out for her.
As soon as she pulled up into a designated parking spot in the student lot, she received a phone call from one of her closest friends.
"Yes, Nay?" She said, putting the phone on speaker as she gathered her things and left the car.
She put the phone back up to her ear and locked her car, hearing Naomi ramble about something, she wasn't really paying attention to.
Soon enough, she tuned in to what she was saying. "Did you get our breakfast?" She asked, referring to her and Keith.
Kehlani only chuckled and shook her head. "Yes I got y'all's breakfast." She said, crumbling the bag into the phone speaker.
"You owe me $13.97, by the way." She said, holding the receipt.
"Bitch, we like sistas, that shit should be free." She yelled. Kehlani didn't respond making Naomi huff into the phone.
"I got a ten on me, right now?" She said. "I'll take that, and yo breakfast, until I get that three dollars and ninety-seven cents." She smirked.
"Lani, you better not." Naomi sounded upset. Over some damn McDonald's.
"Bet money." She laughed. Soon enough she was far into the school and down the hallway where she could see Naomi and Keith leaning against isn't her lockers.
She always thought they'd make a really cute couple, but she never brung it up, due to the fact that they're all best friends.
"Hey I haven't seen you since.. yesterday!" Naomi grabbed her, and pulled her in a hug.
Keith's tall ass wrapped his arms around the both of them and lifted them up as if it were easy.
