Vampires.
Whenever someone hears that word, they think of pale, ethereal beings that glisten in the moonlight. But a long time ago—the Victorian era to be exact— vampires were nothing but creatures of people's worst nightmares.
Because of this fear, Iwaizumi Hajime took it upon himself to ensure that the people of Transylvania lived their lives peacefully and without any harm.
Iwaizumi began hunting during his teenage years, but his young age meant nothing compared to what he could do. In fact, he was such a proficient hunter, that the people of his village called him Van Helsing— a name that struck fear into the cold, glossy eyes of vampires.
For the next few years, Transylvania became a sleepy town under the protection of their savior, who they worshiped like a god. But Iwaizumi knew that at any given moment, that slumber could become broken. Because of this, he made it his one and only mission to kill the King of the Dead — Count Dracula.

"Ah, Mr. Van Helsing," A young boy pestered. "Sir Keji of the Owlian Kingdom reported another case."
Iwaizumi sighed. "Another? That makes a total of four today."
"Don't worry, sir," The boy smiled. "You'll get them! Just like you always do."
"Thank you, Hinata," He adjusted his vest put on his frock coat. "You're dismissed."
Hinata nodded and left.
Jesus Christ, Iwaizumi thought. Why is vampire causing trouble this early in the morning?
He shook his head and got up from his oak-wood desk. He didn't have that much in his office, except for framed articles of his most famous victories and a photo of him with his beloved mother and father.
With his new found wealth, Iwaizumi managed to get them an estate just outside Transylvania. Since they managed to raise a child while poor, he thought they deserved to live a good life. He smiled as he put on his top hat, exited his house, and made his way across the road.
"Kageyama!" He called to a teenage boy drinking milk outside his front porch. "Could you go get your father for me, please?"
Instantly, his face lit up and he ran inside. "Anything for you, Mr. Van Helsing."
Followed by Kageyama, a man appeared in the doorway. "Hajime! How has it been going with the new business?"
"Very hectic, especially with a new assistant," He sighed, the chuckled. "I think he might get along with that son of yours, Haruto."
"I bet! So what can I do for you?"
"I was wondering if I could borrow one of your horses, there is a case in Owlia and I'm afraid
I cannot travel that far on foot." Iwaizumi explained."Of course," Haruto began. "Anything for an old friend. I'll go saddle up Augustus for you."
"Thank you."
Shortly after their goodbyes, Iwaizumi made his departure to the far away kingdom. The trip would take him an hour, so he thought that he should ponder about the case.
Why Owlia? Why this early? Will this vampire he captures be as scared of him as the others?
Iwaizumi chuckled, "I guess we'll have to wait and see, won't we, Augustus?"
