Chapter 1

CHAPTER ONE

THE AWAKENING

I had always thought I had an average life. Two parents, a sister, and two dogs. I then realized that my life was not normal, and never will be. It all happened too fast, and all at once. I never expected it to happen, nor did my family. Here is my story.

I was walking home from school one evening, and had only one thing on my mind, how Lewis looked at me today. Lewis is not just a random boy, oh no, he is one of the most popular and cutest boy in school! He had looked at me as if I was some hot model or something. Of course, being the shy no one I am, I blushed and froze up. Finally it was time for fifth period, so I rushed out. I was gushing! My best friend, Amelia, was as excited as I was. Yeah, yeah, yeah, we were those girls.

"Jacy, do you know what this means?" Amelia asked. Right when she said that Lewis walked by, so she just whispered the answer in my ear,"You guys are going to get married and have kids!" She gasped,"I can plan your wedding!"

"Lia, snap out of it! I am obviously not going to marry him. I mean look at him, he can get any girl in the entire school, and you think he would choose me? You need to chill and stop eating so much sweets, it is making you crazy!" I said.

Amelia sighed and we headed to our fifth period classes. The rest of the day was just a blur. All I was thinking about was Lewis! I just couldn't help myself from daydreaming our wedding. The final bell rang and everyone powered on their phones. I received a text message from my mother saying she couldn't pick me up. I started to walk home, and like I said, I was thinking about Lewis. I arrived home to see my sister playing with her dolls. She was four, but had the brain of a ten year old.

"Emm," I asked,"What did you do in school today? And who dropped you off here?" Emma was her name, but we all called her Emm for short.

"We finger painted and I made a portrait of Ms.Ronoma. Oh, and Daddy dropped me off here and told me to wait in the living room until you come home. Her teacher's name was Ramona Contreras, but all her students called her Ms.Ronoma. I simply nodded at her and went to do my homework. I had to read One day you will see and write a 2,000 word essay on it. Of course it was do in the next six weeks, but I figured I would start immediately.

After reading four chapters and writing 211 words I stopped. As I was walking to my bedroom door I heard Emm scream. It sounded as if she was being hurt terribly bad. I called for her as I ran down the stairs. By the time I reached the living room I found the door open. I ran outside and managed to remember the navy blue van's license plate. BJG-7918. I quickly wrote it down before I forgot and called 911. I dialed the three numbers and listened. It rang about two times before I heard a woman's voice.

"911, what's your emergency?" She sounded familiar. The same sweet, Hispanic voice as...Ms.Ramona!

"Is this Ramona?" I asked. she said yes so I continued,"Emma Reighn just got kidnapped! I managed to record the plate number of the van. It is BJG7918. Please help her she is only four and my sister!"

"Don't worry Jacy we can find her! I will contact all local police departments to keep a careful eye out. And don't lose hope." Ramona said. She sounded so confident, I bought into her tone. "I won't." We finally hung up and I started thinking to myself. I am the one that left the door unlocked. I was too busy thinking about Lewis! Why couldn't it be me? Why my Emm... I trailed off in thought when I heard loud sirens. I hadn't realized I was deep in tears until a police officer offered me a few tissues. The investigation went normal, DNA samples and such. As it was ending I blurted out something.
