chapter fifteen:
another fucked up person

I felt goosebumps as the cold breeze of late autumn hit me that reminded me that finals start soon, I'll have enough time to study since Christmas break is in a few weeks. every day has been the same, I wake up to go to school, try to avoid eye contact with Zach as much as possible, hang out with Lilly and the twins then go home eat dinner with Owen, do my homework and sleep. it's getting a little boring I hope something exciting happens this winter break; thinking about it that probably won't happen since Lilly is gonna go to Austrailia with Camron-yeah they are a thing now- and the twins might go back to Norway.

"ocean," Marcus said with his deep voice that had sort of an effect on me, still to this day I don't know why that happens. marcus is my best friend the person I hang out with every Friday night, that kinda turned into a routine-staying up all night doing fun stuff or just talk about wats up with our lives-he knows how to make me smile, he makes me feel special like I'm not another fucked up person.

today is Friday so I'm looking forward to hanging out with Marcus again, no one knows about the hanging out thing. I just don't feel like anyone needs to know about it.

"pineapple" I replied back. "looking forward to tonight" he winked and walked closer to me. "what are you doing tonight?" a familiar voice said I looked around and spotted lily walking behind us. "uh-we..we are-"I stuttered but Marcus quickly saved me by cutting me off and saying "we have a project due for Sunday, Harley said we should start early" and gave Lilly one of  his signatures smiles, I prefer his more wide smile, the one were all of his teeth are showing and his small chocolate eyes become wrinkly.

I started to notice all the small stuff about him which gets stuck in my head.

"Oh okay" Lilly replied, she is kinda down today because Camron went back to Australia.

the soft cold breeze wrapped itself around me like a blanket that made me shiver but I kept it cool in front of Marcus, the way he looks at me makes me feel incomplete-like there is something missing in me, or that I need to impress him somehow.

"I can tell you're cold" he took of the forest green hoodie and revealed a white-long sleeved shirt that complimented his body and his abbs briefly. "here wear this" he handed the hoodie to me. it smelled like him and I loved that about it. I wore it over the light purple shirt I was wearing and it was a tad big on me. I loved it though, I love oversized clothing.

"How was your week?" I asked breaking the silence between us. "normal, nothing exciting or special happened". "same my life is getting boring. it's all the same, wake up, go to school, hang out with you guys and try to avoid Zach. that guy either ignores me or won't let me go. its annoying as hell, I mean bruh move on! and Owen has been busy with work, I've been getting sooo bored lately like the only fun part of my week is the days we hang out on this hill and talk. lets not forget about how Lily is dating my best friend, don't get me wrong i love both of them and they're hella cute together but dude I need my best friends to pay more attention to me, I'm not an attention seeking person but you know what I mean, I'm talking too much, right? imma just stop. how are you not annoyed right now?" I tend to talk a little fast sometimes and I get worried if people understand what I say. I look at Marcus and he gives me a soft smile "your so cute when you speak really fast, its like- I don't even know how to explain how much i.." he let out a small laugh and stopped talking and looked up at the dark sky, the stars shining. "-how much I love when you talk about stuff and how you explain situations, you know how some people talk a lot and you get bored with them?" he turned his head and locked his eyes with mine, I nodded in response. "well that never happens when you talk, I love yo- I mean the way you talk and your voice..does that make you feel weird or something?" i shook my head, studying his detailed brown eyes that made me week to my knees a feeling  that I'm not capable of explaining.

"I love your eyes" I say admittedly, "they're plain and basic" he responds looking at the grass in front of him. "well i love them"I held his chin and turned his head towards mine, I liked looking into his eyes so I looked at them making sure he knows I mean what I say.

"C'mere" he spread his arms wide and I put my head on his chest, he wrapped both of his arms around me tightly. 

I love this feeling more than anything, being in his arms and knowing I'm protected by him.

"Are you staying here on the Christmas break?" I asked him

"Probably not, my cousin is coming back to Norway I haven't seen her in a long time, I think Martinus is staying here though"

A huge feeling washed over me, it was a mix of jealousy and disappointment all that came out of my mouth was "oh" 

He replied with a short "yeah"
