-10 months later-
(Y/n) spent the next 10 months training with his dad. If he was honest it was probably the most difficult 10 months of his entire life. His dad taught him how to fight in hand to hand combat without his quirk and had a lot of workout routines. (Y/n) did ask one day after they came back home for the night.
(Y/n):"Dad, how'd you come up with this work out regiment?"
Dad:"Well simple. I did this routine when I was at U.A."
(Y/n) then asks in shock.
(Y/n):"Wait! You went to U.A.?"
Dad:"Yeah I guess I forgot to tell you. It just brings a lot of memories back for me."
(Y/n):"Did you ever do Hero work?"
Dad:"A little here and there often times in a team with your mom."
(Y/n) is even more surprised that his Dad has actually been a hero for a period of time regardless of how short. He then asked.
(Y/n):"What was your hero name?"
Dad:"It's not really that important I didn't really ever contribute that much, but I believe that you could."
(Y/n) says excitedly.
(Y/n):"You really think so?"
Dad:"I know so son."
(Y/n):"Thanks Dad."
Dad:"Your welcome son."
It isn't long until it is time for the entrance exam for U.A. Both (Y/n) and Midoriya are a little nervous to say the least but they both put on a brave face and try to walk to the staging ground only for Midoriya to trip and start falling face first. (Y/n) sees this and tries to grab his friends shirt collar to keep him from falling only to realize he feels considerably lighter. He then realizes he isn't even using any strength to hold him at this Midoriya then begins to panic as (Y/n) had let go of him out of curiosity, only for him to float. At this a girl with brown hair begins to apologize by saying.
???:"Oh I'm sorry I should've asked before I stopped you with my quirk. Are you guys excited?"
Midoriya is in a daze as (Y/n) nods. At this the girl looks a little confused until, Midoriya explains for his friend.
Midoriya:"Um I'm sorry he isn't really talkative, b..but its not anything personal just has to do with his quirk. Oh and I'm Izuku Midoriya and this is (Y/n) (L/n). It's a pleasure to meet you um..."
Midoriya blushes a little brighter at realizing he was not only talking to a girl but he also had forgotten to ask her name. She then answers with.
Uraraka:"Oh I'm sorry I'm Ochaco Uraraka. It's nice to meet you two as well. I'll see you two later."
At this she walks inside and the two boys realize that they should head in so they don't end up being late. (Y/n) and Midoriya take a seat inside the auditorium like area as pro hero Present Mic briefed everybody about the physical exam. To put it simply there are several types of robots all of which will give points upon destruction, except for one of which is worth no points as it is meant to be avoided. Just destroy bots and keep moving forward. Simple enough, right? Well as far as (Y/n) can think, yeah it won't be that bad however, he is a little worried about Midoriya. However, he doesn't really get time to dwell on it as he is ushered to a different starting area than Midoriya. While standing there he feels someone bump into him causing (Y/n) to stumble a little. He then turns to see a girl with black hair done in a ponytail say.
???:"I'm sorry I didn't mean to bump into you. I should have been watching where I was going."
(Y/n) then says as steam seeps through his scarf.
(Y/n):"It's fine. Don't worry about it."
She sighs and bows as she then says.
???:"Thank you for being so reasonable. I wish you the best of luck to you..."
(Y/n):"(Y/n) and same to you..."
Momo:"Momo Yaoyorozu."
With that they decide to let each other focus on the exam that is before him. (Y/n) begins to remove his jacket to reveal a long sleeved gray thermal shirt along with loosening the scarf around his mouth to increase the strength of his quirk as it become more effective as (Y/n)'s body temp gets colder. Unbeknownst to (Y/n) his muscle tone is fairly noticeable through the tight-ish thermal under shirt, the one that's attention was most caught up by this was Momo's even if it was for the briefest of seconds before she shakes off her blush and gets ready (I should probably mention that due to (Y/n)'s training he is about as muscular Midoriya). (Y/n) then brings his right hand to his mouth and breaths out heavily and focuses on a shape making a ice scythe giving him a weapon however, the cold is already setting as (Y/n) begins to shiver a little as his body temp drops a little.
(Y/n)'s thoughts:"Just remember don't make a bunch of weapons otherwise they'll become brittle and ineffective."
Upon doing this (Y/n) wraps the scarf a little tighter around his face. The gate in front of them opens up as everyone rushes inside the area to try and rack up some points. Along the way (Y/n) racks up quite a decent amount of points until he hears a thunderous collision from two things and looks up to see the robot worth no points falling backwards. (Y/n) then notices that Momo is underneath where it's arm is going to land so (Y/n) runs to her location and unravels his scarf and breathes so much ice onto the arm that Momo was able to use a metallic staff that seemed to almost appear out of thin air to shatter it keeping them both from getting hurt. (Y/n) turns to look at Momo and she actually gets a good look at his face before he asks.
(Y/n):"You Okay?"
Momo:"Thanks to you I am. You?"
(Y/n):"Yeah if you hadn't broke that arm we'd both be in a sticky situation."
Momo:"We'll call it even then, Deal?"
(Y/n) shivers before wrapping his scarf back around his mouth and says.
(Y/n):"Deal."
This is soon followed up by a siren blaring signifying the end of the exam.
-a week later-
(Y/n) looks through the mail and sees a letter from U.A. presumably his results. (Y/n) texts Midoriya.
(Y/n):"He man, have you got you results?"
Midoriya:"Yeah, but I'm really nervous about it. What if one of us doesn't get in?"
(Y/n):"If I don't get in then I'll just apply at a different Hero school and if you don't I'll still apply to a different one with you."
Midoriya:"You'd give that up for me?"
(Y/n):"Of course. You're my best friend dude. I'm gonna open mine up just text me if you got accepted or not. Okay?"
Midoriya:"Okay."
(Y/n) takes a deep breath and opens the envelope for a little disk that then displays a hologram of All Might. (Y/n) still hasn't forgiven him for crushing his friend's dream, regardless the hologram then says.
All Might:"Ah Mr. (L/n) son of two U.A. alumni and it shows. Your results put you pretty high up in the ranking. While you gained a good amount do to your subjugation of the different bots the real kicker was your attempt to rescue Miss Yaoyorozu. You have what it takes to be a hero and U.A. would like to greet you with open arms. Now on a note just between us, I can assume you are probably worried about your friend, but I can assure you he also ranked high enough to pass despite not destroying a single bot. And with that I will bid you farewell young (L/n)."
The hologram ends and (Y/n) then sends a very happy and excited text to a very similarly happy and excited Midoriya. (Y/n) didn't notice but, his father was watching the whole time with a proud smile at his son regaining his enthusiasm again even if it's only for a short time.
