Y/n's POV
"Look y/n I know you hate all the lovey dovey stuff, but you need to find you a man, you know, your soulmate," Selena said.
"Who says I need a man, I can live my life with just me, myself, and I," I objected.
"LORD Y/N, YOU SIT AROUND THE HOUSE ALL DAY READING FAN FICTION AND EATING, AND YOU SAY YOU DON'T NEED A MAN?" Selena asked, as she slammed her hands on the dinner table and forcing her body up.
I just scoffed and continued to eat my food in peace and ignore my friend's sudden outburst.
"Really y/n?"
"Look Selena, I don't know why you're so interested in my love life, when I'm ready, I'll find someone. I'm just not ready right now." I explained calmly.
Selena just sighed and ate her meal. As the we finished, there was a knock at the door.
"I'll get it," I volunteered, as I stood. I opened the door and laying on the ground was a flyer about a library's grand opening.
"Maybe we should go," I suggested I handed my friend the flyer.
"I can't, I'm going on a date tomorrow."
I rolled my eyes and set down the flyer on the counter and began grabbing all the dishes to wash them.
"You wouldn't be going to the library alone if you had a boyfriend.." Selena teased.
"I already told you, I'll get a boyfriend when I'm ready."
"Whatever, I'm heading to bed, goodnight y/n. Make sure to think about what I told you."
"Goodnight Selena," I yelled from the kitchen.
I can still go to the library without her, I needed some new books anyway.
I finished washing the dishes and began to turn on the TV.
"What should I watch today? Maybe I should watch a comedy, but I kinda wanna watch something with mystery in it," I mumbled to myself.
I ended up getting flustered and just went to bed.
"That damn Selena, she's messing with my head so much I can't even pick a show to watch."
I took one last look at the flyer before dressing in my pajamas and jumping in bed.
Ha, soulmate my ass, nice try Selena, I don't need a man. Plus, I'm perfectly capable of getting myself a boyfriend if I wanted one...
