The first thing a Human Brain do; after gaining back consciousness is to activate the senses on hyper-alert. The ears strain themselves to pick any sound that might be dangerous and as such. Same happened with me. The first thing my brain picked is the shrilling ringtone of my cell-phone.

Despite the protests of my body aching due to sitting under the cold shower stall for almost an hour and falling asleep in it too, the sudden movement was something they were not ready to have.

Picking myself up from the floor of stall; I dragged my aching body towards the door whilst tying bathrobe around my body. Looking at the caller id; it gave me an unusual happiness.

"Hello." I said, my voice groggily from crying.

"Again crying I see, Big M." Said the voice which always manages to bring a smile on my face.

"I was sleeping." Which was true though only half.

"I'm so sorry I woke you up. I'll call later." Said the voice, lacing with guilt.

I laughed. She is still a kid.

"No worries. So, how come you remembered your "Big M" this fast? It still isn't Christmas you know." I said teasing the person on the other end.

"I know I'm a bad girl but Geez. I don't wanna know it this crudely." She said almost crying.

"Hahaha. Okay okay, relax. So, everything okay?" I asked my voice getting serious.

"I-I was missing you."

"So? What's the issue? Come to NY tomorrow. I'll send the plane."

"No. It's that I was being nostalgic. Can you come to me? Here? In Cali?"

I sighed. Here; I was in a mess of life and death and she was calling me. I don't to hurt her. I love her.

"You're coming here. I don't want to hear another thing."

The person sighed heavily.

Looks like I just won. Again.

"Okay but make it next week. I'll take off's from university."

"That's great then. I'll see you soon. I hope."

"Very soon, Big M. Gotta go. Mick is calling me."

"That man is still with you?"

"Geez. That man is my boyfriend."

"I hate him."

"Yeah I love him too. Take care Big M. Meet you next week." And just like that she disconnected the call.

That man is a bastard. I also found him fishy.

Stop being paranoid.

I lay back in bed and closed my eyes.
