Chapter 2

Thanks for the reads and votes guys, it's much appreciated! If I'm being honest I don't know how long this story is going to be and don't really know where it's heading but I'll try to persevere.

Sungjae POV

"Sungjae, pass the juice will you." Hyunsik hyung snapped me out of my daze and I'm instantly brought back to our dorm. The last couple of weeks had been a bit crazy to say the least and now finally I had some time to sit and think.

"Sorry, what did you say?" I ask confused.

"I said to pass the juice." He gestures towards the carton placed near me on the table. I grab it and pass it to him with as much effort as I could muster. "What's up with you recently? You seem out of it." He opens the carton and pours the juice into his glass.

"I think everything that's happened recently has thrown me off slightly." I pick my empty glass up and angle it to him to fill with juice. "What with Eunkwang hyung leaving for the army and then this stupid rumour which was so clearly untrue. It's just been a bit draining."

"Well firstly, Eunkwang won't be away forever, I'm sure the time will go faster than you expect you just have to keep busy. Secondly, you dealt with those rumours and everything was cleared up. If it's any consolation, nearly everyone was supporting you."

I look Hyunsik hyung straight dead in the eye. "You know they weren't supporting just me, it involved another person as well." He fidgets in his chair and looks down at the table.

"Yes, well..." he stutters on his words. "You and Joy were over before anything could have ever happened. You've moved on haven't you?" I ignore his last question.

"You know why nothing ever happened hyung. She was the one who cut off all communication with me. I wanted to continue to talk and see where it could go yet she blocked me on everything!" My voice begins to rise in volume without me knowing.

At this moment the phone in my pocket begins to ring. I answer quickly and my manager begins to speak. "Sungjae, you're needed urgently at Cube. I'll be with you in ten." He hangs up the phone without any explanation.

"What was all that about?" Hyunsik hyung stands up to put the juice back in the fridge.

"They want me at Cube, Manager hyung's coming to pick me up soon."

"Did he say why?" Hyunsik hyung now comes to sit back in his seat.

"Nope, but I guess it can't be good if it's urgent. It's probably something to do with that damn rumour again." I huff and stand up and head for my room. "I just can't catch a break these days." I go in and shut the door to get ready.

I place my headphones in as soon as I enter the van and close my eyes. I remembered back to when Joy and I had just finished filming 'We Got Married,' we'd both agreed in private to continue talking to each other after the show ended. Well, I thought we had, it was all going well for a couple of months until one day all communication suddenly stopped without any forewarning. I tried to message her to see what was wrong but I was blocked from sending her a message of any form. From there she began to ignore me in public and when we passed by each other backstage she would keep her head down and hurry past. I took this as a sign that she didn't want anything to do with me and so eventually I began to feel the same towards her. However, at the shear mention of her name I feel my heart beat just that little bit faster and I hate myself for it.

We arrive at Cube and I follow my manager into one of the informal meeting rooms. It's a relatively small room with two leather sofas placed either side of a coffee table. CEO Hong is sat on one of the sofas and rises to greet me when I enter. "Ah Sungjae, I've been wanting to talk to you for a while now but we've been getting everything ready."

"May I ask what exactly have you been getting ready?" I ask confused whilst sitting down on the opposite sofa.

"Hasn't your manager informed you of the situation?" He takes a look towards my manager.

"No, he hasn't actually." I look at my manager now with stern eyes, he avoids my sight and looks straight at CEO Hong.

"Well here's the thing Sungjae. After your dating rumours hit the public, their opinions became very clear."

"We've already had a meeting about the rumours and have dealt with it, why am I here again and still talking about it? I thought we had moved on?" My confusion only increases.

"Ever since you appeared on 'We Got Married', we as a company saw the great support that you and Joy had as a couple." My heart rate now begins to increase. "We decided to leave it be for the time being but when the rumours arose, the support for you two returned and it seems Korea is absolutely in love with the thought of you two being a couple." He says to happily for my liking.

"Okay, I'm not sure where you're trying to go with this?" I look again between the CEO and my manager.

"We want you and Joy to be in a relationship." There goes my heart again. "Not a real one.....well, it will be real in the eyes of the public."

"Let me get this straight, you squashed one of my dating rumours just so you can start a different one?" My anger begins to rise slowly. Who are they to think that they can play around with my private life?

"This won't just be a rumour though, this one is 'real'." My anger has risen higher to the point that I stand up from the sofa.

"I refuse! I will never speak to that girl again after what she did to me, she lead me on and when the time was right for her she cut me straight off. I'm sorry to go against your word but I'm not going to go along with your little plan, my private life has been public for too long already and I'm not going to stand for it." I move to the door and grab the handle.

"Sungjae, sit down!" The CEO has now raised his voice to higher than I've ever heard it. He slams his folder on the coffee table and leans forward with his elbows on his knees. I sheepishly make my way to sit opposite him again and lean back to get as far away from his glare as possible. "You will do as Cube says. The terms have already been agreed with SM and a contract has been signed between the two companies." I bite my lip in order to not retaliate and let out a sigh.

"Does that mean that Joy has agreed to do this as well?" I say in a calmer manner.

"I'm guessing SM hasn't given her a choice either seeing as the contract has been agreed to. Speaking of the contract, their are terms that you both have to fulfil otherwise there will be consequences."

"And what exactly are they?"

"Firstly, you are not allowed to be caught 'seeing' anyone else except for each other. Secondly, there is also a possibility for you both to be the leads of an upcoming drama which you both will happily accept. Thirdly, no one else should know that the relationship is fake including your band members." I know this is going to hurt me the most having to lie to my members and even my family. "And finally, you must remember that this relationship is all for show, it is not real. Don't get caught up believing it is because it is NOT!" He looks me straight in my eyes and holds eye contact for a considerable amount of time.

"Don't worry, there's absolutely no possibility of that happening!" I get up and leave the room.
