"A long, long time ago, I was in a big attack. This is how it went:

As my alarm clock went off for the fourth time this morning, I groaned internally. I know I should probably get my lazy butt up, but this bed is so warm. "Ugh." I grumbled, sitting up and turning it off.

"Carter, GET UP. NOW." I heard my best friend, Rose, scream at me.

"Shhhhhhh, I'm sleeping." I groaned to her through the door, falling back into the bed. I felt sore and my eyes hurt.

"Get up or you'll make me late for my flight!!" She screamed through the door angrily. She knew I couldn't care less, she can just leave. "And you'll be late for work!" She added, knowing that would get me up and running.

"FINE." I exclaimed, finally getting up and unlocking my door.

"Hallelujah! Took you long enou- Woah, what happened to you?" She said, stopping herself when she looked at my tear stained face.

"Nothing." I mumbled, I had forgot that I was crying last night.

"Gurl, Imma find out anyways!" She said to me in a 'duh' like tone.

"Fine, Jack and I broke up since he's moving to Italy." I said, my eyes getting teary again. "He d-didn't want a long d-distance relationship.." I hiccuped.

"Oh my gosh! Haven't you two been together for, like, four years?!" At my nod she continued, "And he just ended it like that?!??!?!" She yelled, her face getting red from anger.

"Yeah." I whispered, nodding weakly.

She pulled me into a hug and said, "Well, that just proves he's not worth your amazingness and definitely not your awesome best friend." She said, stating last bit jokingly, lightening up the mood a lot.

I laughed half heartedly, "Yeah, I guess you're right." I mumbled back to her.

"Of course I'm right! I'm never wrong! Except that one time... and that other one... and when I did that thing... And, uh, yeah." She said, making me laugh.

"Now!" She exclaimed, "I'm going to leave so you can get dressed and fix that catastrophe of a face you have right now!"

"Dang, and I thought friends were supposed to tell you you looked good." I mumbled.

"Then, hun, you really haven't been paying attention to our friendship at all in the last ten years of us ever knowing each other." She said sarcastically.

"WRONG." I yelled. She looked at me with a questioning look on her face. "We've known each other for.... Hmm.... ten years, five months and two weeks." I stated.

She rolled her eyes, "Know-It-All." She mumbled.

"Actually, you're smarter than me, soooo... Plus, I just named some numbers... So, yeah." I say, causing her to laugh, turn and walk out of my room, shutting the door gently.

"Well, bye to you, too, then." I grumbled at the closed door. I turned to the small closet in my room, looking inside and grabbing a pair of high waisted, black jeans and a long sleeved white, flowing peasant top. Grabbing a pair of socks and some shoes, I slipped them on. Then, I went to the bathroom and looked at my reflection.

"Holy mother of all things I know and love, why did you choose me to look like this when other people look so... perfect, like Rose?" I mumbled, looking at my roughed up, dark brown hair. I do admit, the brown does look quite pretty, especially with the natural highlights to it, but it's my face I don't like. I have too strong of a jaw, and my glasses make me look like a nerd.
