The girl was fixing her hair in the mirror. She had long, black hair that flowed to her shoulders. The only problem with long hair was that it was hard to take care of, but that was not a big problem to her. After all, she liked her hair how it was. Everytime she woke up in the morning she had to brush her hair and push back the stray pieces that threatened to dangle in her vision. Her glasses were an onyz black, made in the style of less dramatic cat-eyes. They emphasized her emerald-green eyes; that's why she choose that particular color.
She already had her school's uniform on. For the girl's, it was a blue shirt underneath a black blazer with a red tie. With it was a grey skirt that stopped helfway to her knees. Thankfully there were no rules that prohibited modification of the uniforms, because she had made some pretty heavy modifications to her uniform to give it more flair and make it emphasize her appearance.
"Charlotte!" her father yelled up to her, "If you don't leave now, you're going to be late!"
Charlotte grabbed her phone and the small bag in which laid her books and other objects necessary for her survival of her day. She climbed down the stairs, careful not to mess up her attire, and grabbed a piece of toast. "I'm leaving!" she hollered back as she walked out the door and down the street, beginning her daily trek to the school.
By the time she finished the toast, she was halfway to the school. She heard some loud footsteps and panting coming from behind her and coming closer by the second.
"Charlotte..." the person behind her panted, "You know to wait for me...."
Charlotte smiled at her friend, who came up beside her. "Oh, I know, it's just that beauty waits for no one, neither does school, Marie."
Marie fixed her hair, brushing a few strands behind her ears. "Come on, you know I don't take that long...I know you take a long time to get ready. That's why you are up by three."
"Hey, it's not easy to keep up with these good looks." She laughed, "Come on, let's get to school early."
