Today is their concert, it's going to be later today and I was thinking of going out with my friends to lunch or something. Actually, we might just end up going to the parks up north, the pretty parks. We might even go to a museum or something. I'm really happy that both of my friends were able to go!
Lacy and Luis are both my best friends, we met a couple of years ago, and we have been together ever since. We went up north, I think it took us about an hour to get there. The trains were full, and we didn't get a seat until half an hour into the ride. As I sat down, i looked at my Instagram account, Lucy started playing a game and Luis was on the phone with his brother.
" What do you want, pipsqueak?" he almost yelled into the phone, irritatingly showing his dislike, " I already told mom that I was going out today! Make your own breakfast, your fourteen already!"
"Oof, is Zuriel being a pest again?" I asked, almost in a routine-like fashion, " I just think that maybe you should have invited him to come with us, he obviously wants to spend time with you."
He gave me the look. The look that means, "shut up, I know already," the look he gives me very time that i encourage him to actually go home and spend some time with his family.
"Fine, fine," I looked back at my phone and started looking at cute animal videos.
" We should go to this park," Lacy said, pointing at her screen," It's really nice and pets are allowed too, maybe we can even get to play with someone else's pet,"
Luis and I looked at each other, "play with someone else's pet?" we said in unison. I looked at her, "What happened now?" Lucy had a tendency to avoid human contact and seek the contact of animals instead whenever she was upset.
" My parents are leaving on a vacation for a while, and I have to stay with my grandma."
Luis, and I looked at each other and back at Lucy. We had both gone through this multiple times, so we both knew what it felt like, but this was the first time that Lucy would have to go through something this sad.
"It's okay, you know we are always here for you," I responded awkwardly, not really knowing how I was supposed to react in a situation like this.

"Hurry up guys! I can already see the entrance!" Luis screamed at us, practically running. Lucy and I ended up having to actually run to catch up to our long-legged friend.
"Damn it Luis! You know I have asthma, what the heck?" I said, getting ready to take a whole puff from my inhaler.
All of us sat around on the grass, watching little puppies prancing around, and making little sketches on our sketch-books. We listened to some indie music that they are interested in. The sun was starting to set and Luis got a call from his mom, asking him to go home already. Lucy also had to go, she was running late already (mainly due to our insistence that she stay a while longer). They left, but I decided to stay, not really wanting to go home.It was getting cold, and the concert wasn't even until a few hours later. In fact, it wasn't even that late, it was only 5:00 and my parents had let me be out until 9:00. So, I decided to wander the streets looking for a coffee shop. I never really come up north, and it was my first time coming alone.
There were a lot of cute little shops lining the streets, and one of them caught my attention. It seemed to be mainly alone and it had a sign saying that you could borrow books while you read. When I entered the shop, it felt warm and cozy, there was soft instrumental music in the background and you could smell the books and coffee. This honestly seemed like home to me. I paid for my coffee up front and went out to chose a book. I picked up a seemingly interesting book, the 1850's a serial killer on the loose, that type of stuff.I stayed there for a while, maybe an hour when I heard the shop's bells ring, informing about a customer. I looked up, so handsome. This guy looked a lot like Namjoon, from BTS, but that was impossible. I quickly erased that though in my head. The cute guy payed for his coffee and picked out a book too. Like I said, the place was cozy, so there were sofas, bean bags and various other comfortable places to sit. I was on a bean bag by a large window. The guy walked over by me, and we gave each other an awkward "How ya doin' "type of smile. Suddenly, I realized the book that he was reading.
"Oh my god!" I silently exclaimed, "I love that book!"
"Really? Me too, I've read it about five times" he answered me with a cute little dimple smile. I couldn't shake off the feeling that he looked so similar to Namjoon, and after he spoke, his voice also sounded very similar. I was surprised that I might be talking to one of the guys that I admire the most, but I didn't want to creep him out, and it might not even be him, so I played it cool.
" Yeah, I really like how the author tells the story from the point of view from the character, but then hits you with the plot twist that the majority of the characters are all in the kid's mind! It's crazy of how someone could even come up with that." I was so happy that I had finally found someone who had also read this book that I loved so much.
" I can't believe that you have read this book too." He responded, and with that, we landed into a full out discussion about the different books that we have read. This quickly turned into a discussion about so many other topics, we ended up finding out that we had a lot in common, and I was so happy to find someone other than my best friends that had similar thoughts that i did. he was also very smart, and ended up teaching me a lot and opening my mind to subjects that I didn't even know about.
"Well, I have to go to a concert," he told me, "it was really nice talking to you, we should hang out again," and with that, he gave me a piece of paper with his number scribbled on it, and headed out the shop.
